Norris was the keeper that got lobbed last season from 40 yards when he was at Peterborough by Alfie May. Very surprised he's at a promotion chasing club because he's always looked a bit suspect.3

Was there. What a good game. I don't think I could fault a Charlton player - Portsmouth were very good. Still hard to process it but initial impressions are their number 8 ran the game, AMB earned us that point despite the pen, and Alfie May is a ludicrous signing.
Up the fucking Reds11 -
NB every Portsmouth fan I spoke to was also embarrassed by their keeper going down3

Pompey have got a LOT of late winners in added time recently, so they were probably due to concede a late one instead!3

Bad attitudes run through this squad in my opinion and tbh we're still massively underperforming - 11th in league one, 5 points off 6th and 13 off top 2.
Also, I agree we're underachieving, but if you take out the Holden era, we're in playoff form. Appleton is 1.73 ppg since coming in, which would have us just behind Peterborough. There were injuries to start the season, and some of the transfers came in late (which always happens), but it should now also be clear that Holden was holdin' this team back.0 -
Set off at 8am by car. Spent a few hours visiting the historic dockyard with my family; Mary Rose was amazing, HMS Warrior and Victory excellent too. At 2pm my lad and I left my daughter and Mrs AC to go to the footy.
So, for the game. We were stood near the front, partially blocked by the goal/net but the team seemed to give it their all and just kept bouncing back.
Pompey score first and Kamara runs to the corner where there are no Pompey fans to celebrate as he clearly hates the 18,000 of them that had turned up. 😉
Then up pops Alfie May to score yet again for us. I am late 40's but love this bloke. Total legend. Runs forever, celebrates each goal like it is his last and just keeps scoring. I am jumping around celebrating for a few seconds when I remember I should be celebrating with my 10yr old boy... turn to see him... and he is gone, nowhere to be seen... Oh no, he has bolted down the stairs on his own to celebrate at the front with the players... #prouddad (shame they had all run to the other side of the goal to celebrate... 🤣).
AMB, what a superstar with all those saves to keep us in it but has a rush of blood and they get a pen. Norris celebrates with arms waved aloft directed straight at us Charlton fans. They score, my boy reminds me of his 2-1 Pompey prediction. Gutted.
"Near Post Norris", as I now refer to him as, starts pissing me off further with his behaviour, and a short while later he fakes injury from catching a ball - which the ref laps up, then goes down in slow mo for an Alfie May gust of wind. Utter dickhead.
But wait, with time disappearing, McG; most unlikely of goal scoring heros, gets in with a header, "near post Norris" falls as slowly as he did for Alfie Mays gust and we have an equaliser. My boy right next to me, never heard me swear at footy before... Can I contain my glee at the goal and at the near post Norris catastrophe without him hearing...can I F*ck!
Then Dobbo... Could have won it at the death, but a draw is a decent result.
GunWharf Quays, Fish and Chips by the Southsea and off home we go.
Good day out. Had to be a draw; we always win at Fratton Park but my lad has only ever seen us lose away... Until today.

Sat with an avid Pompey mate. Said categorically we were the best visiting team he'd seen at Fratton. His mates seemed a decent bunch.
Think both our clubs should be scrapping it out for Champoinship play off spots next season 🤔7 -

That goal makes Alfie May League One's top scorer with 12.9

McGrandles has a quiet game: he’s shit get rid
McGrandles scores a late equaliser to snatch a point: he didn’t celebrate how I wanted get rid
Unfortunately some have already made their mind up and until he proves he’s the second coming of Mark Kinsella, that’s not going to change.16 -

I would have lost my house on todays game was I a gambling man , home banker that was .
Still the amazing header by McGrandles was well worth a point .
McGrandles or some of our fans who’s touchier , oh he didn’t celebrate cos there was still time left … well that video after the game with Hector shoving him forward shows that was bullshit .
in the ideal world a bit of passion/ fake passion for our club endears you to the fans but what really endears you is consistently putting in a good shift and performance and getting promotion out of this shithouse….
come on you reds , get us out of here
there is hope , the league is shit , so’s our defence but our attacking threat is good to see (please stay fit and well Alfie )
only saw bits of the match but AMB pulled off some miracles but their keepers an absolute clown for his antics and not stopping or at least being better positioned for our goals , thank fuck , silly twat3 -
We’ve now played 8 of the 10 teams who sit above us in the table after today.
Next three are against 22nd, 23rd and 15th. Big opportunity to narrow the gap to the top six.22 -

The way he managed the injury faking keeper was an outrage. Very poor.0 -

CBT - shocking today, not interested.Dobbo - same old Dobbo
May - worked his socks off.
Or maybe he was a bit rusty not having played last week.
Maybe that's what happens when you rest players we you dont need to.
I can take the brickbats & the pelters.....but not the lies.1 -

Would have happily taken a draw at Fratton Park so very pleased.
Think MA has come in and is changing the mindset bit by bit ( bar Cray) and these players will keep going and going until the full time whistle. Haven't seen that for a very long time by a Charlton team.9 -

Touchier (great word) maybe, but I was just reporting what he said in his interview after the game. I think I agree, on reflection, that he was spinning it. He feels fans haven’t given him a fair crack on social media, and he’s right.3. Looking forward to welcoming him to The Valley! 😂2 -
‘Near post Norris’ - love that3

I only managed to catch the first 20 and the last 20 but for what I saw that was a good old fashioned wnd to end football match. I really enjoyed it. Some of our bigger stars went a bit missing (CBT, Leaburn and young TC) but there was a purpose about the group that was nice to see. Hopefully a new start for McGrandles.1

4 takeaways? I would have been grateful for one by the time I got on the train home, I was starving.4
