[quote][cite]Posted By: Kap10[/cite]Sideways, I agree this season looks like its going to be enjoyable, early days and we stillmay bring in more players[/quote]

I've no doubt we will. It remains to be seen where we will be shopping. Hopefully Bond Street, Hopefully not Primark, More likely Bluewater.......

At the moment the squad is so thin that the alarm bells start ringing the minute someone looks even remotely injured.

That's the worry for me at the moment, need at least one centre back in, and we know Parky wants two. Could do with a goalscorer, though at least we know that's another position we want to sign someone for. Then the only other problem is on the wing, need back up for Sam, depends what happens with Wade Small really.

Don't really want Spring as back up for Semedo and Racon, but for now he'll have to do. At least Sinclair will be back from injury eventually to add competition. I'd imagine we'd move Bailey into the middle if needed.

39 degrees here but forced myself to watch SSN in bar.

Got mistaken for a bristol city fan when shouted for the palace defeat.

Sounds like the same game as wycombe only CH didnt go off for 10 mins with a cut head so allowing other team back into it.

    How good/bad were wycombe?

A really good team effort, everyone worked hard for each other and we deserved the win.1 great save from Elliot, other than that Hartlepool only had 3 good chances on goal. The team can go into the orient game with plenty of confidence and hopefully another win.Good vocal support and an enoyable day.

Great result, can't wait until Tuesday night now. 5 goals in 2 games is a good sign.

Doesn't the world seem a better place when Charlton win!

Parky reaction on OS. Hopefully Llera will be available on Tuesday.
One player the Addicks will keep a close eye on ahead of the trip to Brisbane Road is Spaniard Miguel Llera.

After receiving a dozen stitches in a head wound against Wycombe, Llera played with a protective strapping and had to leave the action in the dying seconds after the wound opened back up.

Said Parkinson, who played down reports linking the club with Aberdeen's Zander Diamond: "Unfortunately Miguel's cut opened back up so he had to come off and we had to put a full-back in to centre-back again.

"Straight away afterwards he was asking the physio if he will be okay to play on Tuesday.

"I've been saying for weeks that we need cover to strengthen the squad. We need improvements but it's nice to be able to have six points and look to improve the squad after a good start.

"He [Diamond] is not one of our targets,” added Phil. "I will be looking to get guys in who will be right for this squad. There's still a few weeks until the end of the transfer window but I'm very pleased so far.”

So we're not after Zander Diamond.

Llera went off injured right at the end of normal time after his head wound re-opened and the claret started spurting all over the place....

Great result. Pleased to say my 1-1 forecast was wide of the mark.

Just hope we can hold onto Bailey before the transfer deadline. Two goals in two games isn't going to go unnoticed!

Just got back, very solid performance. Burton played really well up front on his own with the ball sticking and then allowing him to bring the 5 in midfield into the game. Going to bed now as the long day has killed me (age I think!) but very pleasing day.

Great to come home from Canterbury to read this.

Well done Parky and the lads and well done all the contributors to this thread.

I hope Llanera's bonce will be patched up for tuesday.
  • Just got back from hartlepool. Professional performance from the boys. Took our goals well and was in control for much of the game. Back four were very solid (daily, Llera and richardson were excellent). Burton was my MOTM. Held the ball up well and took his goal well also.

Seen the goals on TV now, I don't think any of our other strikers would have shot like that, not even Gray. In fact not many of our players would have thought of it, Burton took it well. Good work from Racon for Bailey's goal as well.

great day out, good drive both ways, nice little ground, friendly fans, good performance, great result, nice meal in country pub on way back. Pleasantly surprised by Hartlepool itself, seems a nice place, not the dive I was led to believe it was.
