Asked a Bristol City supporting mate about Bakinson, his reply was "He's shit and has a stinking attitude". Definitely fits the kind of profile we are targeting so reckon this is a goer!36

1: The seasons not over, we still need to pick up points to stay clear of the bottom. If there are good players available for loan why would you not do it.
2: It's less expensive than a permanent deal, it allows us to save money for the summer window where the money can be better spent.
3: It allows us to take a look at a player for 6 months before deciding whether or not we want to try and get them permanently in the summer if that is an option.0 -

*Edit, he's behind Bannan, Byers and Vaulks in the pecking order and needs game time.

Bakinson is a perfect signing for us; he has a weird name that posters will spell wrong 97% of the time, as is tradition.6

Not anything we didn’t already know in terms of player links but good to get perspective from someone who isn’t a fan but still close enough to the club to understand our shortcomings.0 -
Bakinson is out of contract in the summer. I don’t massively rate the signing from what I’ve seen of him, but a loan where it’s a bit of a try before you buy is fine as there’s a good chance we get him permanently if he does well4

If anybody thinks Bakinson is better than Louie Watson, prepare to be UNDERWHELMED!8 -
I hope it isn't true, he isn't the type of player we need10

I'm really confused about Abankwah. Has he officially gone back yet, ie do we have a free loan slot ready to fill0

I’m not sure about Doherty . Llera maybe.0

to Udinese for treatment. Tedic has a concussion and is going back to City.3 -

I’d prefer we kept Watson too, and don’t really rate Bakinson as a signing but I don’t think it’s as bad as people are making out. He fits the profile of what we are lacking in midfield, played 50odd games at this level for 2 good sides in recent years, only 25 so could improve1 -

Yeah Bakinson feels for me the difference between getting bodies in now like people want, or waiting to see if we can get better - Welcome to the madhouse though Tyreeq0

Have I read somewhere that he's been recently injured? Or is my mind now conditioned to just think that6
-
I was encouraged by the links to Coventry and Docherty. Why build our hopes up and then sign Bakinson who sounds like a panic buy like Penney last season.6

He scored his first goal for Blackpool on 28 April 2023 in a 2-3 home defeat against Millwall. Late in the game he conceded a penalty which gave Millwall the win and relegated Blackpool.
And this is after we are sending back one of Man City's duds.
Gee, thanks.11 -
Hmm. Bakinson. Never heard of him before yesterday but he wasn't one on the list I posted yesterday that I was hoping would happen. Weds fans unimpressed generally with "inconsistent" and "doesn't seem bothered" being bandied around by their fans.
Some of their fans also seem to think that by moving him on they will free up space to sign... Coventry from West Ham!
Still, their fans have been wrong before on players we have signed from them, and if he is wearing the Charlton shirt he will get my support, so good luck to him if he joins and maybe a return to London is what he needs!5
