Get Coventry in and add him to our other top 6/ lower championship midfielders and go with a diamond:

                 Dobson
    McGrandles Coventry
                  Fraser

All four added together must equal one top 10 premier league midfielder, right....right?

    Proper mustard etc etc

     :)

Potentially going to have a sell on clause with West Ham benefiting.

Well I never. This window has already surpassed my expectations.

    Good signing this. Very pleased.

Striker and CB at least and hopefully a winger its not a shabby window.

Getting rid of deadwood such as Fraser will be nice also.

Seems like he could be a very good signing, someone who could potentially have the talent to step up to the championship.

Does not feel like we are ‘fucking about’ this window.

Hopefully get a striker, and a defender at least to match that sort of quality now.

Win for both sides if he's any good.

Getting out of this division is far more valuable that any sell on clause.

Good signing I believe, and a player to build the future around.. this might be the end of Dobson though, either this window or at the end of the season..

Fair play to the club for going back in for Coventry when look set to sign for Massive
Dobson needs to be kept to help us avoid relegation.
No chance of relegation ….. with or without Dobson

Plus a signing like this says a lot to other players, that we are willing to back up the talk, so may make the next signing easier.  (I hope)

    Still lots to do
Reckon we are a top notch goalkeeper, couple of defenders and a play maker short.
    Clarke Harris a bonus
  • Never expected a signing of that calibre. Will this influence JCH to get on and sign up? We shall see.

I think it's time to stop thinking about this window in the context of this season and think longer term (plus some good loans).

We want the kind of window that we look back at this time next year and say "some really important building blocks for a genuine promotion push were put in place then".
Looks like they've listened to what I said a month ago
  • If I was to assess this window early on, I’d say that some really important building blocks for a genuine promotion push have been put in place.
  • Well I have to say I am pretty stunned by this - a Hammer mate of mine says he is very good indeed, and surprised he chose to go to a Div 3 club - is far too good for Div 3 he says - 3 1/2 year deal as well

I hope we keep hold of Dobbo and CBT - hopefully they will view this signing as a reason to stay onboard, as perhaps it would be worth hanging around at Charlton now

Gillesphey in too according to Cawley

Don't know much about him but at least we're getting our business done early.

Given how early this one's been announced I reckon you might be right.

Don't know enough about Connor Coventry to make comment, looking at his stats been out on loan a lot, I'll reserve judgement.

I'll be happy with Gillesphey. Should strengthen our defence and can put Jones on his natural foot. Only question is whether he can play in a two.

Could this actually be a turning point? We’ve all been so down after the results since December, but with Bakinson, Fiorelli and now Coventry, signing, this feels very different from the last four or five windows. To secure a player that bigger clubs were chasing from under their noses is a good sign.
And my wish list was three midfielders to get the ball rolling, so I’m slightly flabbergasted if I’m honest.
And if Cawley is correct and we’ve signed Gillesphey then that’s another statement of intent.
We still need a big striker and a left back, but as we had virtually zero hope of reaching the playoffs I wouldn’t mind waiting until the summer for them.
Now send Aneke off to see a world leading sports injury specialist and I’ll be very happy.

Depending on the CBT situation we need 1, maybe 2 wingers still, a striker and another left back. Keeper wise I think to truly compete at the top we need better but it's low on the list for January IMO unless someone absolutely mustard is available

    Looks decent
We still have a long way to go
The defence needs fixing and if Dobson and CBT go we'll need at least four more (inc the Plymouth centre half)
    Desperate for a forward
