Said it many times Albie was underrated by Charlton and especially Charlton fans. We have had
    Gilby
    Payne
    Mcgrandles
    Fraser
    Campbell
    Lad from Ipswich
    Taylor
    Anderson
    Shinnie
    L Watson

He was and is better than all plus wanted to play for the shirt.

We have supporters raving over a player on loan after 70 mins...........blind
    So I disagree on Shinnie.

He was not the answer and it was right to release him. Just because he’s better than half the other dross we’ve been served up over the last few years doesn’t mean he was good/consistent enough.

Morgan isn’t the answer, we’ve just not improved the midfield because of injuries and/or poor recruitment. That’s been a depressing pattern over the last few years.
  • I believe he will prove the doubters wrong over time.

If that's the case then they might be proved right. The issue with Alfie has always been if/when it will click and whether a team can afford to keep starting him when he's so inconsistent. He's not getting enough starts at Blackpool IMO and might have been better off going to a lesser team where he'd play 40+ games.

It looks to me like he’s exactly the same at Blackpool as he was for us. He will have a run of good games, then a run of poor games and get dropped and then repeat the cycle. He’s a decent league 1 footballer, if he got more consistent he’d be a good one

Albie was dogshit in a Charlton shirt. I'd take half the players on that list over him. We've barely seen McGrandles...

It used to drive me mental to see him head for the corner post waving his arms to indicate what cross was coming, for him then to deliver the same piss poor quality cross that either failed to clear the front man, went straight to the keeper, or sailed over the box and out. Can anyone really say that they have thought "what we need to win this game is Morgan" even when watching another feeble effort from the present no-hopers?

We want to get promoted, not sit mid table in L1 for a few more years to give Morgan time to prove himself.

I agree the potential is there, but I’m not so certain he’ll get there. He needs regular game time if he’s going to reach it.

    Morgan was crap...thats it really.

He was released as a result but we got similar players instead of outright improving.

He's the perfect example of should have taken a L2 loan under Bowyer, but Bow didn't exactly sell him did he.

Morgan was an ok squad player. If he'd had a year left on his deal we would have kept him, and that would have been fine, but his contract was up and we would have had to give him a payrise and most likely some assurances about his place in the team. Was that worth doing? Not really. He's benefited from a change of scenery and now we only get intermittent posts about keeping him when he scores as opposed to weekly 'see, he's great'/'see, he'll never be good enough!' posts. Everybody wins

I don't believe a player in our recent history has been given as many chances as Albie had and more often than not he disappointed.  We were right to let him go

He scored twice last Saturday. Nice goals.

Two good finishes and his first brace in his professional career.

5 goals in 146 league matches.
3 goals in his last 2 matches !

Albie Morgan will be 24 next month and the move to the north west and the sea air has given him a kick up the backside. He needed to leave as he was in a rut at Cafc.

I said he couldn't hit a Cow's arse with a Banjo(he really couldn't)and he should practice even if that meant staying behind in the afternoon.

I was one of the few who thought he could improve to at least be a decent League 1 player with a bit more dedication; not at Cafc as his time had run out.

His fitness had improved over the last two seasons and again since joining Blackpool.
  • Ian Holloway and the others raving about him on ITV4 just now. Brilliant, unbelievable signing etc

    Awks
  • May have changed their mind now
  • …And he’s just gifted Forest a goal.

  • Poor pass…Sadly this is albie, can be a class player on his day but look at what he had just done those little moments and that inconsistency is why fans such as myself who rated him got so frustrated with

Albie being Albie again! Short “blind” back pass to goal keeper results in a second for Forest

You can't do that against a team better than you.
