Charlton Life's In-jokes

There are certain in-jokes that seem to have been around for years but because I missed the original posts, I can only guess at what they might refer to. Would anyone be kind enough to explain the following?

Plymouth Herald
Makro's car park
Shay Given's opinion

I think I can work out for myself the chip portion one, the height test one and the Henry's cardigan one.  Any others?

Plymouth Herald - Somethng to do with Ronnie Moore and some posters obsession with his posts.

Makro's car park - A poster offered out another poster at the gates of Makro.

Shay Given's opinion - Not sure.
  • It was a bloody half zip jumper
Great response. I had no expectation my post would create a new in-joke.  Excuse me.

I think Givens was something to do with the protests? Can’t quite remember.

As things have turned out, I think the joke maybe on us for this one, for putting the idea into the SMT's heads that he would be a popular choice with the fans!

That "joke" was understandably retired though
  • A few other occasionally recurring themes:-

    Adrian Edmondson
    Hair highlights
    Vegan dining options
    Bunch of flowers

The bit that sticks in my mind was him subsequently being described as hitting ValleyGary with a 'really weird chair'

Plymouth Herald was Ronnie / Colin / Bexley Boy  giving us the inside track on the interest in a striker from Plymouth from a “journalist contact”down there if I remember correctly and all the info being posted was not surprisingly after the event 😏.

His rant was at me saying I coached kids in dartford and my mum was a communist and disabled.

None of which is remotely true, I dont think.

No no of course! I mean the chair line. Only one person could have come up with that, the scoundrel
