Whilst I have never seen him play, people on here rate him, what is the situation with him, is he long term injured, when is he expected back?

  • Aint heard anything in last couple of weeks but when after he injured the club were sayin its not as bad as they first thought and didnt exspect him away 4 too long. How long im not sure.
  • I read that he should be back in about two weeks. The same time line was given for ZZ too.

ZZ is having a pin taken out of his foot in early Jan and should be fit by end of Jan just in time to be sold.

Don't really need a replacement for a player we haven't had all season.

We didn't have Racon (or when we did, we didn't play him) last season, and Shelvey and Wright are more likely to get a chance now.

Racon back in training January, ZZ in four weeks. Jonjo will feature in the team when it's right for us and him.
"We've got to manage his frustrations because he's had a taste of it and like all young players he wants to play every week. He's an excellent lad, he loves the game, he lives, sleeps and drinks football, and the Charlton fans are going to be in for a treat over the coming years."

Metatarsils are not always what they're cracked up to be.

Is it just me ( I was behind a stantion) but was Racon mustard particularly 2nd half.. I wasn't that convinced by him till tonight.
  • won us the game in the 2nd half as their midfield tired and couldn't close him down like they did in the first

best player in this league by a long way IMO

just hope we can hold onto him till after the transfer window

Wasn't there tonight but he's a quality player. Still don't know at all why Pardew didn't rate him in 07/08 and used players like Ambrose and Holland ahead of him.

Always rated him thought midfield was solid, but Bailey is wasted on the left was barely in the game.

Problem is there is nowhere else to put him. He seems quite comfortable there, even if it's not the most natural position for him, obviously harder for him to get crosses in and he can't try to control the game from there.

Racon was fantastic second half. He looks so comfortable on the ball and showed a good turn of pace a couple of times. He also seems to respond to 'man on' shouts by spinning away and past oncoming midfielders.

Maybe he didn't see as much of the ball as usual - but he would have kept the team shape, created space for team mates by stretching defenders, defended from the front and protected Youga.

Often, what you do in a match without the ball can be just as important as what you do with it.

I agree, they're all things he offers out there and although it's not 'normal' to have a player like him out there, it works.

    Shelvey

He's really not the 'nasty piece of work' they think he is based on one game.

He was playing on his local patch, knowing there would be loads of people who knew him.

He's gonna be wired up ....... desperate to have a really good game.

Racon was fantastic tonight, him and Semedo are a great partnership and they should only get better.

One of their fans thinks "Charlton were one of the plain dirtiest teams Ive seen us play for years"

Though at least one disagreed "come on rocky, charlton weren't dirty.we just couldn't match them physically or skillfully"
  • Some of those Leyton Orient players were a disgrace, throwing themselves on the floor so regularly and mugging the ref repeatedly - it's third div football and they should be ashamed of themselves.

I think the fact that Racon is still with us, or at least hasn't sparked a landslide of interest. IMO a better player than Bailey or Jonjo, and one that I could see stepping up to the premiership. Maybe it's just that he looks great against lower class opposition.
