I was told we were going for it at the end. Lee Mack was funny anyway.0

May getting very animated recently may suggest there is disharmony in the camp.
If that is the case it will be very hard for the next manager to rectify things.
The club is rotten to the core and I fear this could be the season we play 4th division football.
Scott immediately needs to go, the other two once the Yanks have looked elsewhere.8 -

Not sure why everything has to be a conspiracy theory these days. They'd obviously made their minds up that time had more or less run out and he had one last chance to prove he was worth keeping.
I said in the match thread, almost regardless of the result the performance was poor, in my view. So disjointed and lacking any cohesion. You could argue that both of our goals owed a lot to good fortune, which, ironically, we have been sadly lacking for most of the season.
We lost, so they pulled the trigger. Which I thought was what most people seemed to want.5 -

I think the signal was there when TC was brought in to play RWB it was do or die time
But by then the damage had already been done (by starting Jones over Thomas/ignoring Louis Watson entirely/not even having Asiimwe on the bench)4 -
Feel sorry for Appleton.....should not have been placed in that position. Had no luck and had May's goal went in then could be a different story. Would love to see Warnock come in but it won't happen....also think the Americans will pull their money at some stage with these incompetents running the club and we could seriously be in the shit......3

wondered where this leaves Fleming so went back and read the piece when he was appointed and noted there was no mention of length of contract.0

Finally.. makes more embarrassing they allowed him to take this game.. Monday’s press conference was all smoke and mirrors I think.. he was going whatever the result was!6

Andy Scott is certainly in the last chance saloon but I want him to prove he can get a manager who can inspire and organise and impress the fans with his football more than talk which is cheap as chips.10 -

went on a lot longer than it should.
now a top half finish will be seen as some sort of achievement, hate my team atm.
the players on paper are good enough.

On the positive side, at least we weren't stupid enough to sell our most dangerous striker to a rival League 1 club, that we are about to play, while fighting relegation.
That really would be a sackable offence.15 -
Club announcement: "Please will Mr Scott follow Mr Appleton to the main exit."

So how many wins did the great manager get for us in his time here?0

Must be a worry. Remember Appleton was hand picked by the board. After the appointment of Appleton Scott said and I quote,
” Michael was the stand out candidate and his proven track record is there for anyone to see”
Christ what were the other people who applied for the job like then?Stand out candidate omg 😦 . Can see nothing but relegation now I’m afraid as the next 5 games are real difficult. Can’t see many points from them. Absolutely shocking 😮15 -
All I’ve been doing this morning is saying sorry to my 7 year old son. Dad has got you supporting a complete basket case of a football club, I’ve not been this disconnected to football since I was 5 years old.Appleton should never of been appointed and it won’t improve unless Scott goes. He hasn't been successful anywhere. Why would any proven manager take on Charlton? Those of you kidding yourselves we are anything other than a laughing stock in football are mad. You’re never too good to go down, we are awful…2

It's time for the second coming
And why are you sticking up for them!
Im just pointing out what I think is a flaw in your logic. I don’t think pride will have anything to do with whether they would ask Curbs or not. It is whether they rate him now or not, and that’s a different conversation.Curbs is like the ‘Elephant in the Room’ it’s so obvious to everyone bar those in charge, he should have some role/ be consulted, assuming he’d be interested, which I imagine he wouldn’t and who’d blame him.0 -

Curbs is 66 years old and I doubt very much he would be interested in the manager's job.
But his knowledge of all things Charlton and football in general would make him a much better choice than Andy Scott when it comes to running the football side of things.
Scott out, Curbs in would be a huge step in the right direction.31
