  • WHO in their right mind, who knows anything about our situation, who has an ounce of common sense and footballing nous, WHO would take on this shit show?

The answer is, someone like Micky Apples, eyeing up 6 months work and a generous pay off at the end.

    I despair!
For one dreadful moment, I thought you were suggesting that the World Health Organisation was the answer.

Good thing my tea break is ending in a minute, all things considered.

Warnock. 18 month contract with a hefty bonus to achieve Championship football within his contract.
    Absolutely.
Warnock has made his money so he could tell Scott to mind his own business or I'll walk.

Oddly, but probably not connectedly, I’m told Richard Murray was there last night.

He was the prime decision maker in managerial changes from 1995-2010.
He was responsible for Dowie, was he responsible for Pardew?

Oh god - it's going to go wrong and we will go down if we hire someone on the chance they might be good. Non Charlton connection hires have NEVER worked in my lifetime. I am a data guy, and i dont like what the historic data is telling me here!

I am more than happy to take a chance on a Duff / Jones at the start of the year. Hire someone like that now and 100% guaranteed we are gone.

My position is clear, but what way it goes who knows?

We need something special that gets the fanbase rocking - that much I know. We arent good enough to stay up on the pitch - we need a major spirit in the stands to get the job done.

  • Could we not get Curbs in the role until season end...would he be persuaded...🤞

Who would unite the majority of the fanbase? Bowyer doesn’t want to come back (confirmed by Cawley) and Powell doesn’t want to be a manager anymore (confirmed by Powell himself in an interview a few months ago).

I don’t see Pearce, Jackson, Euell etc having the same impact on the fans. I don’t see Curbs as the answer either.

Who would you be happy with?

  • Appleton wasn’t the problem .

Don’t leave it like that please!

    Great week so far.

    Lost to Burton and Northampton
    Manager sacked
    Fraser loan collapsed
    CBT left
    U21s lost
U18s lost in the FA Youth cup.
I’d call that consistency and business as usual sadly

Stephen Henderson can go with Appleton.

He backed him to the hilt and was in on the whole 'get over Curbs' noise.

It's the fans fault, we keep sacking managers. Bromley Addicks sold CBT and now they're trying to ship Dobson out to Hungary.

Id like us to go for Rowett personally.

Usually you have a rough idea who we might end up with but this time, not a clue or even close to knowing.

When? I haven't heard him speak publicly since being hired.

I'd also question his coaching ability as he doesn't appear to have improved Maynard-Brewer's game at all - still rooted to the spot and failing to command the box - the penalty/dive incident last night only happened because AMB didn't go to the ball and clear it earlier.

Win on Saturday and would expect Fleming to carry on in charge until end of season at least

He certainly didn't come across well in that exchange you shared.

Don’t think Simon Weaver is the way to go at all. Fear it could be another Ben Garner.

Warnock is now 75 - I really can't see him upping sticks again to South London

Where's the Simon Weaver idea come from?

I heard it face to face, he said the way we treat Appleton is disgusting and isn't fair. He's the man for the job, we need to back him etc.

Chimed in with Appletons comments about getting over Curbs and justifying it by saying 'how long yous been in league 1 for now, how many managers'

If he rates him that much, tara mate

Why don't we take the first clueless twat who is up for it?

    Sorry, channelling the SMT!
  • Thus is a total mess. They allow Appleton to sign lots of new players, we must assume to put together a successful team/ squad.
They sack him and the poor person coming in has a squad they did not want.
if the Board were going to sack him why not do it earlier and allow a new manager to get the team they believe will succeed.
the club is a farce from top to bottom.

    Did they though?

Isn't it more likely they were players found by Scott who were given to him with some (limited) MA input?
