I can honestly say it was this night that I realised Douchbag was going to be a disaster.
And I always remember how years later, Rick wrote in VOTV that Kermorgant was forced out because Douchbag wanted to cut his wages. And that Yann could have come back - and wanted to - in January 2016 on a new 2.5 year contract that was agreed with a senior club official before Meire called him to say Charlton couldnt afford his wages after all and the deal was off.
What absolute madness from the pair of them.32 -

Ledge of a player. Always capable of sticking it top bins from a free kick. To think we got rid of him for the likes of polish pete, reza etc. They weren't fit enough to tie his boots. Remember him being labelled greedy frenchman and yann who very well by our own fans.
Yann love ❤️

Oh how I'd love a player of Yanns ability as a strike partner for Alfie. Can't believe how shoddily he was treated by Meire after all he gave to the club.
Up there with Andy Reid for the most ridiculous deadline day decisions.9 -
One of the best players ever to play for us … legend16

Remember him coming back as a Reading player and scoring for fun against us. Looked almost apologetic at how easy it was to demolish us.9

What’s he up to these days?0

I've probably said this before on this thread but I'll say it again. My favourite ever Charlton player and I cannot see that being topped any time soon14

He was a wonderful player and a really top bloke too.
I remember reading an article with him where he was just so French...he said "I know I am always going to win the header, every time" and you could almost imagine the arrogant smug frenchness yet he was such a normal unassuming guy.
TBF he was pretty much unbeatable in the air11 -
Named my dog Yannie and always love answering when people question the unique name. A true great on and off the pitch3

Been supporting Charlton since the early 90s and never been as gutted about losing a player. Can't believe it's been 10 years, still not over it!9

My favourite footballer ever by a country mile in the 18 years I've supported Charlton.
No one else has come close, and the ones who have were all in the same team as him.
It's both a sign of how great he was but also how far we have fallen that no one has come close since.7 -
Born in Vannes, Brittany .. I was doing some research on one of the new French scrum halves who was born in the same town.. Vannes looks like a VERY nice little seaside town, now on my list of places to see in the near future (I hope).
Incidentally, the name 'Brittany', I always assumed that Britain was named after that French region, in fact it's the opposite, the name coming from the ancient Britons fleeing the 5thc to 7th c Saxon invasions of England. Do like a lil bit of 'istory as a French scrum 'alf might say.
EDIT .. gleaned from God and Jimmy Wales's gift to modern culture and education, Wikipedia2 -
My favourite ever player and my favourite time supporting the club.2

My second favourite ever Charlton player.
Second only to Killer, by the way. Met him twice. Lovely bloke.0 -
If he had played with Alfie when Yann was at his peak they would have got at least 50 goals between them in a season.4

My wife was pregnant with my first child when he was playing for us and the NCT ladies said I should sing to the bump. So the bump used to get the odd rendition of "we all dream of a team of Kermogants!"10
