Was hoping for confirmation and announcement today. Am I the only one feeling anxious that this could yet go tits up?1

Nothing to get excited about but Jimmy Stone will be talking to Ade Azeez and Jordan Cousins about Nathan Jones on a twitter Podcast @ 7pm
Am pretty sure there was one exchange between Azeez and Jones on twitter years ago.
Might not have been them, but remember one Academy Youngster talking on twitter about some casual game at Bexleyheath Goals one evening... Jones (If it was him) saw it, and replied to the post saying that anyone who appeared there, would be in trouble when they showed up for training (in case of injury) - The player instantly replied going: "Looks like I'm not playing at Goals then"5 -

this is an exciting time for us. This lot are truly behind us..It has been, and still is, a disaster. We’re about 4/5 points worse off than we were this time last season, something I genuinely didn’t think was possible. They’ve gone through 2 managers already and apart from this window and bar Alfie May, their transfer dealings have been poor.Things do take time, but we’ve had a terrible year, and fans are basing their opinions on what they see in front of them, not second/third hand messages that they mean business. The recent signs are positive and I hope all works out, but as a fan base we’ve been battered and bruised since the Jimenez days when it comes to owners. Skepticism and frustration is warranted
Lets hope it’s a better future now32 -
AndyG said:If Jones signs as our Manager I honestly think we can put to bed all the negativity regarding the ownership.
Im not saying he will be a success here as nothing is certain however the very fact that he decided to join a 3rd tier club potentially facing a relegation battle says alot !!! he is not a mug, he would certainly have options, he doesnt need the money. All this must mean that he can see the ownership are serious and not the chancers alot on here portray them as
They're the chancers I always refer to and don't want near the club, a new manager and a few signings isn't changing that, the money came from elsewhere. I truly think we have a low ceiling with those 3 having influence.
Hopefully, with the latest murmurs of the money men getting more involved, they'll take a proper look at their track records and realise that they could probably do better.
Of course I could be wrong, but I'm usually on the money on a judge of character, and they have history with other clubs to cast some doubt over peoples minds.6 -

I do think they seriously and fundamentally over estimated our playing squad and how much money and work was needed to arrest our decline down the league table.
I believe they will not want us to drop into Division 4. We need a little luck to not get any further injuries. The next month could make or break us.3 -

I'd be happy sticking with Curtis Fleming. Certainly for the rest of the season. Cant do any worse.9

Some of you expect far too much. I really don't understand how some of you have a problem with these new owners after the shower of shit we've had in recent years.
This is arguably our best window for a while, and it's their first window.
We can't blame them for CBT - he wanted to go.
We can't blame them for JCH - he didn't want to join.
And it's not a case of we should have outbid them and just thrown money at it - it's not our money to throw around.
Was Appleton a shit appointment - yes, but any worse than Dowie, Reed, Parkinson etc, no. Not all appointments will work out, that's why there's so many sackings across the divisions.
I don't know CM outside of his appearance on the Sunderland documentary, so how can I dislike him, why are so many of you against him, when you have so little information about him or his involvement with the club.
It feels like this site has come somewhere for miserable old men to have a good moan!19 -
Nathan Jones Lee Johnson set to be at The Valley tomorrow, provided we get official announcement.

Indications I’ve had are that it is a done deal. Obviously need official confirmation, but that’s where we’re at. #cafc7 -

I am emboldened by the fact that the investors are now taking more direct action and involvement as the players we brought in during the summer were not good enough (May was before they took over).
I do think they underestimated the scale of the issue (as Sandgaard did), but seem to be taking steps to resolve this now. I do have some hope for a brighter future now beyond this decade of shit we have endured.8 -

He was worse than Dowie (Prem), Parkinson (never this low in this division), Reed (joke), Fraeye (joke).
The first transfer window was terrible. The sticky plaster loans - we were better off without them.
They seriously misjudged this division and their own skills. The money men have stepped in.
They told all and sundry you only had to be "half decent" to slash costs, bring loads of money in and be successful.
Not quite right, were they! On any front.7 -

Imagine getting annoyed with fans when we have a worse team and league position then under Roland, Sandgaard or the years when we struggled to pay the bills during the Parkinson era.
Hopefully the January player recruitment & Jones are all that changing but until now they have managed to create a worse situation then ever in most of our lifetimes.7 -
What time is too late to make an official announcement? 8pm??1
-
Jones is just waiting on final confirmation about there being no table tennis tables at The Valley or Sparrows Lane. Owned or Leased.12

I’ve had confirmation from a very close source that the next manager will be Richard Cawley. To be announced at 1905 tomorrow.Apparently, it’s all been a game of smoke and mirrors.Come on Cawley!9

I really don’t give a toss who is on the money re announcing whats going on - it’s not a competition
It’s also what keeps these forums going so let’s not fall out who is right first
The bottom line is we are All
Charlton fans
FWIW - I think we have exciting times ahead
Let’s get behind the team⚽️7
