I don’t know about anyone else but I’m getting very nervous about the lack of announcement. Is it done and the comms people are doing their stuff or is it because we don’t want any distractions before a crucial game, or are negotiations still ongoing and Scott is the problem (again). Someone in the know put us out of our misery.
Cawley’s confirmed Jones will be at the game.

    New Derby manager  ;)

I'd bloody hope he's going to be at the game.

Hopefully they get him to sign a contract before we lose miserably and he changes his mind.

Also that we've recalled CBT, he's signed a 5 year contract and playing for us today.

But what if he watches us and changes his mind 😂

Could well be an on the pitch announcement then - why not ? Pump the crowd and the team - we’ll know when we get to the ground if the pyrotechnics and light show equipment are in place

That would spoil the day .. why would you want  someone who basically went on strike and refuse to play ..hopefully he gets a rough reception

I think he walks out just as the drop on insomnia kicks in - he then takes the mike  as the house anthem comes on and he finishes by proclaiming ‘Your in my house now’ - the valley erupts, he fist pumps his way off and then watches us get turned over

     Was thinking the same.
If he waiting to see us play to see what he's up against before agreeing then we could be in trouble.

    Is he here yet??
    No.

Currently stuck on the lower road at 20mph behind some buses who are all giving priority to non existent  cyclists  and wondering where he can park. Should be there for the 2nd half to see how we concede late goals. 😆

If Jones is a devout Christian then that may have swayed the American owners, as the yanks all seem to be religious fanatics.

The more I read about Jones the more uncomfortable I feel, let’s hope he doesn’t bring god into the team talks, pre and post match interviews.
Somehow I doubt all three big US money owners are born again Christians

Chris Powell was a devout Christian not sure why that's an issue for Jones.
Agree, it isn't an issue for Jones, and it really shouldn't be an issue for anyone else...
    Absolutely

No harm having a manager who is friendly with the big fella, we need all the help we can get.

Agreed - irrelevant to me that’s for sure although I do wonder how intelligent people can actually believe in, let’s face it, a load of mumbo jumbo, but each to their own

They are better off getting him pissed up in the boardroom so he falls asleep and misses it.
  • Another clapped out - merry go round  - old banger of a manager -  on the slide for a club on the slide with no vision.

It’s just a repeat of what we had before and before and before and before.

At least he has League Two experience.

I'm now wondering who leaks to who. Some very credible people on this forum have had different info to Cawley on some things, and been right where Cawley has been wrong, and talked up some parties.

Cawley now feeds a line about Brener amd Friedman, otherwise hitherto unmentioned, possibly as a condition of getting this news, and to reposition their influence? Interesting.

If I may draw a comparison from the NFL, very respected talking heads who break news like Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport often tweet news with "this deal was negotiated by X agent" or "[personnel involved in hiring] was a big say in this appointment", and it's clearly a line from their source.

So I wonder if there's a bit of selective leaking going on!
Or maybe he’s a journalist and doesn’t have to rely solely on being spoon-fed by interested parties?

I would be surprised if Jones has not watched some videos of our games and still interested. Probably hoping that as we have practically changed the team it could be better

I don’t think it would take a genius to work out what religious faith Joshua Friedman follows

Hopefully they got him to buy a ticket, he is like anyone else in the ground until he is gainfully employed...no free loaders please, we need every penny...🙄
