I agree with the above I just see him as an athlete with limited ability atmScoham said:he’s a poacher but not strong, quick or skilful enough to really scare Championship defenders.
I like the ball to look like its in one with the player when it's near them when I look at him it's all a bit crash bang wallop
but then I'm looking for silk
His touch and shooting doesn't feel pure enough for me2 -

The catch-22 for Cafc fans is if he had the silky skills you mentioned already as opposed to the rough edges then it would be hello and goodbye. Mason Burstow scored straight away before developing an all round game and he was off in a flash.
Difficult to know at this stage, Daniel Kanu or Miles Leaburn's ceiling but it could be Championship if both stay fit. Miles does come under a good touch for a big man (on a good Day) where Kanu is the athletic forward who will chase every ball down and get in behind where Leaburn is your Quintessential big number 9.
A good partnership revisited if both here next season ?

It depends what league we are pushing for promotion from. He could be getting lots of game time next year if we go downoohaahmortimer said:Worth a punt but I don’t see him as a future Chamipionship player if that’s where we’re hopefully aiming in the next few years.
Can’t see him being more than a squad member if we’re making a push for promotion next season .0 -

Notice we've got Ralfi Hand on Pro Terms as well, going by that report1

Thanks for posting that as Ralfie Hand's dad told me about his son and Daniel playing in the same district team as young boys when Daniel was at cafc and Ralfie was at Gillingham. Ralfie has been unlucky with injuries since joining Cafc from Kinetic academy after leaving the Gills but I noticed he played for the U21's last night.
Both lads represented Kent school's team as well.7 -
It seems like a fresh start for him and with a new manager I think he will be chomping at the bit to impress.
Watched the interview with him and he came across as a smashing and articulate young man.
I think he will do well for us.3 -
Very good news. An excellent young man and a fine prospect.1

I think wmcf123 may have been referring to T Campbell not Kanubolloxbolder said:
Surprised at that. I think he's a very good prospect based on his progress this season.wmcf123 said:
Yes I agree. We can’t just perceive ourselves as a 352 team - it’s not going well, let’s be honest.fenaddick said:
can see him getting a move to a decent L2 team / bottom half L1 team who play wingers. Probably wouldn’t be a guaranteed starter but he’ll be under less pressure. Think in the right environment there’s a real player in therewmcf123 said:
I wonder where Campbell thinks he’s going to gofenaddick said:
Think you'll probably be disappointed about Campbell or Dobson. No inside info at all just a gut feelingAthletico Charlton said:This is really good news.
Would like to see Campbell, Adigun and Dobson extensions follow.1 -

Really pleased for Daniel.
From the first time I saw him (- the youth semi & final 18 month’s ago?)
thought the lad would succeed, ‘knows where the goal is’.
Also remember a comment from one of our coaches but can’t remember who (D. H?) ‘ Daniel’s level atm is way short of Mile's’ , which was totally understandable.
As been mentioned above, DK’s progression this season has been a joy to watch. He’s toughened up & starting to hold the ball up, albeit still a lot to work on.
My guess fwiw is in a year’s time he’ll be a fully fledged league 1 striker albeit alongside a number 9.
In two years ? Who knows but I’d not be surprised if he makes it to the championship.0 -

PK is a hilarious character and a very handy football for anyone who hasn't seen him for Hashtag. Anyone for another CM in the Squad......Scoham said:
Also didn't know Tyreece had Free Kicks in his locker!1 -
I absolutely love this guy.
Burstow was decent. Myles is awesome.
Daniel has something different. He’s a down to earth bloke by the sounds of it and the story about someone from here seeing him training on his own in the park on his day off is special.
Oh yeah and he’s one of our own.24 -
You can not fault his work ethic and today he added a bit more with a proper decent cross and a deserved goal , scrappy but well earned through hard work
well done DK3 -
As the flag waver for Daniel Kanu since his debut and even this season, the majority on CL said he should go out on loan and a few posters said he was 18 months off being a regular in the squad. I feel so pleased seeing his high marks on the Players scores. His work rate is excellent and he will continue to add goals to his game.

Think his loan to Southend has made a huge difference. Seriously earning his starts now rather than just being there by default. And he’s on a long term contract which is a major bonus16
-
Pleased he scored today, a good finish.0

He does have that Charlton "character" which is just as important as ability and technique (which he has as well of course.)Bolderhumphreyreid said:I absolutely love this guy.

Earned his goal today, hopefully a few more to come.4 -
Really like him, the commitment is there, hopefully he keeps on showing the signs that the skill is too.
One of our own, Dan Kanu10 -

I think that the big difference this season is that he has become stronger and more athletic. He always had a goal scorers instinct, but has added physicality to his game. I also think that under NJ's coaching he will develop his running off the ball and areas of the pitch to run into.15

Stepped up today
Just what we need atm6 -
Well played Daniel, best game for Charlton so far.4

Was told a couple of months back that Dan and Appleton really didn’t see eye to eye and if Apples stayed then Kanu would not sign a new contract.7
-
Somehow not surprising and although Jones is 2" shorter than appleton i wouldnt think he bas too much trouble seeing eye to eye with any of the players.buckshee said:Was told a couple of months back that Dan and Appleton really didn’t see eye to eye and if Apples stayed then Kanu would not sign a new contract.0 -
Hopefully we'll see a similar resurgence from Tyreece Campbellbuckshee said:Was told a couple of months back that Dan and Appleton really didn’t see eye to eye and if Apples stayed then Kanu would not sign a new contract.11 -
Exactly as I said when he signed his new contract it always feels like he’s in the game when he plays, has a presence about him on the pitch to make things happen. Glad we didn’t loan him out.MartinCAFC said:Great news always feels like he’s in the game when he plays and with a few goals to his name too can certainly make an impact. Hopefully DK can help contribute between now and the rest of the season.0 -
Probably happens a lot to Appleton.buckshee said:Was told a couple of months back that Dan and Appleton really didn’t see eye to eye and if Apples stayed then Kanu would not sign a new contract.
