    Good today
  • Solid player and plays beyond his years
  • I like him. Looks physically stronger than both Edun and Tennai Watson.

From the little I have seen of Kayne Ramsay, he looks promising also.
  • Gets in good positions, strong, able to drive with the ball to release defensive pressure and keeps his discipline in formation. Just lacked a bit of quality in his final ball yesterday (but may and Kanu aren’t exactly good targets to aim for in the box when crossing). Looking good so far

Really like the look of this lad. Definitely an upgrade on Edun (who I still think can be a decent player for us with the right coaching).

I noticed Edun appeared to slot into Midfield when he appeared yesterday - Wonder if we'll see more of that in the future with him converting back to his original position, where he did well with Lincoln

Sums up our previous transfer activity though where a 19 year old, without a contract, is head and shoulders above our number one left back target of the previous two transfer windows!!
Young Prem players (or those released) is a market we seem to have completely ignored, at least in terms of players we can put straight into the first team. I hope that’s something we’re looking at.

Without presumably NJs recommendation we’d have seen his lack of appearances for St Mirren and Port Vale and missed out.

We need more signing like this.
  • Was incredibly highly rated only a few years ago, you don't just lose ability/potential overnight. Hopefully found a home with us, attitude and application do not seem a problem.

Think he was "without a contract" for less than 24 hours as his Southampton contract was 'mutually terminated'. Guessing that Nathan Jones suggested him and knew there was a chance Southampton would be willing to let him leave and would imagine we've just taken over his contract until the end if the season.

There have been a number of players recently who we seem to have targeted who are from South East London, giving them a chance to 'come home'. We now need to stop the random Prem Starlet who even the parent club knows isn't going to do much type sigings (Tedic/Fiorini/John/Castillo).

Prem Academy players with potential who we have a chance of actually keeping is an area we seemingly haven't been in a position to tap into properly before. Fingers crossed we're now looking at this route, rather than the previous 'helping their development' of JRS/Gallagher/Bielik/Cullen et al and sending them back.

Have to say I feel so much more confident with him at left back. He’s a physical specimen, but also intelligent in the way he seems to use his body well a lot of the times.

Think he will only get better as well.

Gave Mendez-Liang nothing all evening, up and down non stop for the full 90 minutes also, hope he continues to kick on

Really like the look of him, like Anderson helps us compete physically but he’s not just a big lump, looks like he could genuinely settle well into the wing back role and over time start adding more to his attacking game.

I also think that he's pretty good technically too.  Some lovely moves tonight against Derby.

Am very sure it was Jones
  • Just give him a two year deal now... Sod off taking up the option, don't want to lose him in a years time at this rate
  • I hope they’re sorting out a 3 year deal for him
  • V good article on him from a few months’ back in The Athletic, if you have a subscription.

Said it on the match thread but I love seeing how attackers just bounce off him, makes such a difference having a physical WB
  • Said earlier on this thread. He just has a PL physique. Doesn't mean he is good enough but at 19 he certainly has a very high ceiling. Hope we can tie him down longer.  Looks a real prospect.
  • Looks like he enjoys playing for us as well going from the celebrations for both goals.

what a find !! ..  he's had a good 'upbringing' at some top level clubs and it shows .. the essential mix of skill and passion, he has fitted seamlessly into the new look line up .. he seems to have made a special bond with Karoy Anderson another super teenager .. he's another one who the 'big clubs' will be sniffing around .. so offer a ten year contract a s a p please

  • Do card tallies and suspensions in Scotland carry over to England, as that article mentions he had 2 red cards in Scotland, so would any red card ban for us be lengthened?
