Our first goal

Didn't celebrate our first goal today because I saw the linesman raise his flag and assumed it had been disallowed. He then lowered the flag and raised it again a couple of seconds later only to lower it again and then the goal stood. Did anyone else see this, and if so, do you know what he was flagging for and why he stopped?

my impression was that he was flagging to tell the ref that the ball had crossed the line, but I couldn't really see as was up the other end.

Yeah he was definitley waving to signal the ball had crossed the line. Was a bit confusing there for a minute though
  • + Sam & Llera crossed the line.

It was going in anyway and it would have been Nicky Baileys goal by all accounts, had Llera not made doubley sure.
  • I saw it differently.

I saw the linos flag and also saw him suggesting to the ref that it was hand ball. He waved his hand in that gesture and clearly gestured to the ref that the goal shouldn't stand. Then he bottled it and pulled his flag down.

Very poor linesmanship in my book but i really don't care! Don't tell Warnock though.

Don't think so. Llera headed against the post and the ball rebounded hit him and went in.

You had to feel sorry for Dan and BDL up in the box, not knowing who scored it

    That's not what Nicky reckons!
