March 2024 - How Many Points Will We Get?

edited March 2024 in General Charlton
I said to my son back at the end of January, that if we got 5 points in the month of February, that would have been a really good month.

So as we move into March, how many points do you hope / think we’ll get?

Northampton v Charlton
Cheltenham v Charlton
Charlton v Carlise
 Fleetwood v Charlton
Charlton v Wigan
Exeter v Charlton

So 6 games in total , 2 at home, 4 away, I’m going for 8 points in total, not sure at the moment in what games, or what is going to be a good points total this month?

Over to you.

I’m guessing the Wigan match may get called off due to international call ups?

But we don’t know that at this point in time, so have to plan as if it’s going ahead.

(England are due to play Brazil).
  • 0-6 points = A shocking month
7-11 points = An ok month
12 points plus - A really good month.
  • Wouldn’t it be great to have hit 50 points by the end of March, COYR!!!

    10 points from that lot
  • Shrewsburys goal difference looks like a bottom 4 side, I think if we can keep up the pressure , picking up points and results, they will crack and get overtaken and dragged into it.

Feel like we need at least 3 wins from that lot to take some pressure off. That would take us to 46 points which I think will be close to safety

Need to win both at The Valley and get two draws away as a minimum. Need a good result at Northampton otherwise it’s looking tricky to get 8

We wont win every game but would hope there wont be too many defeats from that lot, we've turned a corner. 14 points.

    Northampton v Charlton 3 pts
    Cheltenham v Charlton   3 pts
    Charlton v Carlise           3 pts
     Fleetwood v Charlton     3 pts
    Charlton v Wigan             1 pt
    Exeter v Charlton             1 pt

14 points. We are a very different team now compared to a few weeks ago and I cant see NJ allowing the players to drop off the performance levels of recent

Need to beat Northampton to keep up the momentum and absolutely cannot lose to Cheltenham and Fleetwood. A lot depends on a bit of luck with games and fitness. If we're going into a home game against Carlisle with everyone fit, able to bring on Camara and Chuks after an hour then I'll feel pretty confident. If Chuks pulls up against Northampton and we lose any of Small, Anderson or Kanu then we'll lack the personnel to play how Jones wants and it'll be a tough time. Assuming everyone stays fit my hopeful guess is:

    Northampton v Charlton   3pts
    Cheltenham v Charlton   1pt
    Charlton v Carlisle   3pts
     Fleetwood v Charlton   3pts
    Charlton v Wigan   1pt
    Exeter v Charlton   1pt

We genuinely could win every game there. Our defence is looking settled, our wingbacks are causing trouble and we have a frontline of May, Kanu, Ladapo and Chuks to choose from. Football is rarely that simple though and we've got to go through the gauntlet of Lavelle and Stockley to get 6 points out of Carlisle and Fleetwood. If we fail to beat Northampton, draw or loss, then Cheltenham will be going hell for leather to get 3 points off us and we might go into Carlisle in the bottom 4 and quite stressed. Win tomorrow Charlton.

Seven or eight with just one win.
