Charlton Athletic vs Stevenage
Easter Monday - 3pm Kick-Off
Referee: Scott Oldham
Introduction
The Easter period, despite being much smaller than the Christmas version is in full swing... The Addicks travelled down to Devon hoping for a Good Friday, and were rewarded for their bad luck over the course of the season, with a fortunate own goal which ensured the points were shared with Exeter City - Charlton return to the Valley this Monday afternoon, for the first of three home games on the bounce; Nathan Jones will no doubt be looking for another eggs-ellent performance as this torrid season, slowly drags towards its grand crescendo
The Opposition
Name: Stevenage (8th) | Manager: Steve Evans
Ground: Broadhill Way
Previous League Result: Stevenage 0-0 Bolton
If there is to be one surprise team this season, then you'd have to admit that its Lincoln City!! - Up until recently though, there would be a clear argument for that side being Stevenage - Promoted back to League One last season (they finished 2nd in League Two) after a decade long absence, no one imagined that they'd be threatening at the right end of the table... Yet in all fairness to the 'Boro, that's exactly what they've done, and have only been outside of the top six for ten matches over the course of the season.
However, it looks as though the wheels are slowly falling off the Steve Evans catering bus... Having watched Stevenage falling to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Reading back in February, its clear that the issue for them is... Goals... Despite all their dominance that evening against another struggling side, they never really threatened to find the net, and that's continued on with their recent form...
In the eleven games that have followed that one, they've failed to score in five of them, and haven't won since the end of February... However they have lost just twice, so whilst their attack is one of the worst in the top half, their defence is the third best in the entire Division - Both sides that'll be turning out at the Valley on Monday have become draw specialists of late, but its the visiting team that'll be desperate for a first win in SE7 to get their Play-Off hopes back on track.
Charlton Team News
Addicks fans were welcomed by the surprise inclusion of Chuks Aneke for Friday's clash with Eggs-eter... Sorry I'll stop now!! - The Striker continued his impressive of form in a Charlton shirt this season, with us remaining undefeated whenever he's been involved. It would be a surprise if he were once again involved tomorrow, but then this is Charlton and stranger things have happened.
We could also see a change in defensive personnel, with Edmonds-Green absent in the match day squad to the South West - Whether that was deliberate or not remains to be seen, but hopefully it won't be long either until we see Kayne Ramsay back and available for selection once more.

I hope they rest Anderson and give Bakinson a run out
1-119 -
So Lua Lua and Wickham looks like a bit of a failed enterprise.2
-
And further good news is that the delightful Steve Evans will not be in the visiting manager's box...https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/6867976511

I do not think we need Thomas and Edun on bench, probably Ladapo instead of Edun, but what do I know 😁3
-
NJ seems to rate Thomas higher than I do. I'd be surprised if he started Gillesphey rather than Thomas.0

I know this is another damp squib season - but I hope we can lift the atmo for our boys who are on a decent unbeaten run. A top half finish is still a possibility and us fans need to do a Delia for the 3 home games coming up, and consign those Appleton memories to the bin.We could finish the season with:
Top half finish
long unbeaten run
division’s top scorer
Chucks setting a record.Onwards and upwards.COYR.18 -

A chance for all the starters to prove why most shouldn’t be starting next season .
Genuine guff the majority of emDraw at best
the lack of skill and guile in this team is ridiculous, work horses can only get you so far6 -
That’s the spirit oohaah. Kind of agree though!1

I’d love us not to be this shit but I can’t pretend what my eyes are telling me
of course I’ll be there cheering them on but I’m sick of this shitness as the ordinary for us now8 -
Bored shitless by the entire thing.
Will find something else to do.5 -
Need to be at our best to get something out of this game play like we did at Exeter & we will get well beat
But it is in us to win this game just need everyone to give their all fight for every ball

Can't wait, we will get to see the best striker in the league in May, up against the best defender in the league, Piergianni. Worth the expenses alone. 0-0 as the unstoppable force meets the immovable object0
-
We're going to win 5-0, Piergianni will be sent off and Michael Hector will sign his contract on the pitch at full time3
-
Looking forward to 3 home games on the bounce. On an unbeaten run despite not playing great recently, upturn tomorrow, 3-1, May with two.0

Think we will win this. Naturally there will be goals as we can't and won't keep a clean sheet. 2-1. Kanu and Lua Lua.0

Humdinger of a game - 3:2!1
