Charlton to move to Stevenage?

In 1960 a 16 year old wrote to the club asking  if the rumours  of Charlton moving to the new town of Stevenage were true.

He'd be 80 now.

Is he still around?  Did he see league football in the town?

    Charlton did reply saying there was no truth in the rumours but fans who had moved to the area as part of post-war new town resettlement remember their parents being excited by the gosssip

    Who would have thought that 64 years later, Stevenage’s own local team would be finishing above Charlton!

    Brilliant, it would be great if he could be found.

    As Oh Eddie Youds says how ironic that Stevenage are now above us in the league structure.
