Best known for his Shardlake novels set in Tudor times, Sansom has passed aged 71 after a long battle with cancer. The Shardlake character will soon be seen on TV, a new series on Disney+
I recommend his books if you enjoy good, impeccably researched historical fiction

    Am just working my way through his books, a good read and proper page turners. 
    I know he was working on one when he died but they clearly take a lot of effort as there is so much in them.

    That’s a real shame. I have read all 7 of the Shardlake novels over the last year after they were recommended to me. I was looking forward to reading number 8 but not to be.

    RIP. I’ve read a few of his books. I’m not really into whodunits but I enjoyed the historical aspects of his books.
