Crystal Palace apologise to Preston for "Lancashite outfit" claim
Crystal Palace have apologised after describing Preston as a "Lancashite outfit."
The Eagles made the boob in a Press release announcing the signing of defender Claude Davis from Derby.
Recollecting the time the player spent at Preston at the start of his career, the Selhurst outfit said: "He made over 100 appearances in all competitions for the Lancashite outfit."
Palace press officer Thomas Coupland insisted: "I would like to apologise.
"It was purely a typo and not a deliberate attempt to tarnish the name of our Championship counterparts."
And some people moan about our wonderful OS : - )

Haha I got this press release yesterday and did point it out to Palace. It was a genuine mistake and they took it in good humour.
