Seems utterly affable - spoke more sense in his spell as caretaker than most of the managers we’ve had in the last 18 yearsLargeAddick said:

Have a very good feeling about this signing. The rest of the squad seem to rate him highly.0

Is he fit now after missing out against Palace?Doesn’t appear to be in any of the training stuff posted0

Same leg as the old tubigrip bandage in the previous pic.
We'll get 10 games each out of our lumps (Aneke, Leaburn, Ahadme), don't worry!

If we didn't have Abbott his knee probably wouldn't be taped like that. And he'd get injured againthenewbie said:

Taping seems pretty consistent with a mild quad strain, where the muscle is tight and is pulling the patella upwards, giving mild discomfort2

Perhaps it is Will's way to stop some of his own training. NJ says he does too much on his own0

Looked a lot sharper and fitter today I thought. Got a goal and defenders won't enjoy their afternoons marking him - a bit of a niggly bastard (which I mean as a compliment.)8

The rough treatement he got today I take as a compliment that he was annoying their defenders.thenewbie said:Looked a lot sharper and fitter today I thought. Got a goal and defenders won't enjoy their afternoons marking him - a bit of a niggly bastard (which I mean as a compliment.)
Really good to see a striker not afraid to "mix-it", skills and physicality

I actually thought his movement looked a little sluggish - but maybe that’s just normal for him.
Either way looked a bloody nuisance, and is the sort of player we have missed up front.0 -

Maybe sharper wasn't exactly the best phrase - more involved possibly a better way of putting it? He is not necessarily going to be making lung busting runs and chasing back all game but (if he keeps today's standards) he will be in defenders faces and on their toes and sticking the odd elbow into their ribs too.FishCostaFortune said:I actually thought his movement looked a little sluggish - but maybe that’s just normal for him.

I don't see that as a bad thing. Plenty of times we've seen that it can be pretty effective as a tactic, and it will annoy other teams' fans no end... which again is often actually a useful tool to have.
Looked sharp? Spent most of the match moaning at officials......thenewbie said:Looked a lot sharper and fitter today I thought. Got a goal and defenders won't enjoy their afternoons marking him - a bit of a niggly bastard (which I mean as a compliment.)3 -
Glad he scored, hope it gives him confidence. But for me he gets shoved off the ball to easily, he does not anticipate the play, looks for the none existent foul. He looks like Kanu did at the end of the 2023 season and 2024 season. Surprised how rough first team football is.1

Be interesting to see him and Hylton start. No way would there be 22 players on the pitch by final whistle!FishCostaFortune said:I actually thought his movement looked a little sluggish - but maybe that’s just normal for him.

Mentioning Hasselbank does not endear him, to me.3

Going to be a bit marmite this chap. If you like him then you point to the way he can occupy and aggravate defenders and soften them up for subs to come on and deliver the coup de gras.
If you don't then his lack of pace and showing little ability to create his own chances are major flaws.
I myself am more in the former position with the caveat he needs to be part of a duo with the right partner to be properly effective I think.
