Recently got an LG 48 inch oled. Very impressed. Sounds good so no need for a sound bar.

I have a Bose sound system cost £800 and that was about ten years ago.I was thinking about L.G 43inch about £400 ish.
Richer Sounds do 6 year warranty.

All modern TV's have bad sound due to how thin they are. Surely you can hook the TV up the the Bose system, which imagine sounds fantastic.

I bought a soundbar for my ancient Samsung TV and I already had a Bose system. What a div!

I recently got a Samasung QLED 65” with their sound bar and woofer, overall very impressed, got it in a sale from an online shop when Samsung were also doing cash back so in all I saved about £2k.

Big fan of LG, picked up a 50UR80006LJ last year, the AI sound does a great job in the absence of any surround sound/bar set up.

OS is fine to navigate around.

Fun fact, LG supply the OLED screens for Samsung TV's (and others)

My13 year old Sony (Bravia KDL40EX503) is giving up the ghost.
Like derek1952 I’m attracted to LG, my budget is £550 so a Sony is probably out of range ( thinking 40 to 45” ).

I’m slightly deaf so I generally have the volume up at around 50 which annoys Mrs AOG.
One option is a soundbar ( max £150 ) not sure if it would work.
Or - new tv should have Bluetooth, so Bluetooth wireless headphones might be the answer.

Then I have to sort out my rip off Sky bill of £140/m !

Set up a new LG TV for my sister-in-law recently. She wanted to use Bluetooth headphones. Very simple. TV sound can go off when headphones are switch on.

That Sky bill is ridiculous. I haven't had Sky for many years but when I did I found ringing them and threatening to leave always brought the cost down dramatically. Moneysavingexpert is a great place for advice.
