I'll be amazed if we sell out, if we do it would be a good effort.

It would be handy to know how many are left, like with most friendlies I will decide on the day if I can be asked to go or not.0

The Leather Bottle, Garratt Lane is a decent pub if you want to eat before the game. There’s a garden if the weather’s ok. Not sure of their policy re footy fans though.0

The Halfway House and The Earlsfield are literally by the station- I’ve only ever drink in the HH (both on a matchday and a non matchday but I’ve not drunk in The Earlsfield - TBF, I’ve only ever driven past it and not realised it’s a pub until I drove past today). There is another pub close to the station but they were refurbishing it today when I went past.0

That one is The Wandle if you mean the one on other side of the road….letthegoodtimesroll said:The Halfway House and The Earlsfield are literally by the station- I’ve only ever drink in the HH (both on a matchday and a non matchday but I’ve not drunk in The Earlsfield - TBF, I’ve only ever driven past it and not realised it’s a pub until I drove past today). Thanks, it’s another one I’ve driven past countless times but not gone in. When I drove past earlier it had scaffolding up and sheets covering the name etc and refurb work going on.Fumbluff said:

Very funny 🤣🤣 so what’s the nearest station to the ground so that I can do pub - - AFC Wimbledon - - home0
-
Get train to Wimbledon - loads of good pubs
Train to Haydons Road takes 2 minutes and leaves Wimbledon 1 and 31 past hour
Walk from station to ground about 10 mins0

Home (excited to see live football again) —— Pub —— AFC Wimbledon (for seven minutes, before remembering how truly awful pre-season friendlies are) —— Pub (at about 3:17pm) —— HomeStewart said:

Getting there all depends where you are starting from.Valianterith said:Very funny 🤣🤣 so what’s the nearest station to the ground so that I can do pub - - AFC Wimbledon - - homeHaydons Road station in the nearest (it’s around the corner from Plough Lane (say 1 minute) but then add another 10 minutes+ walking down PL and making your way to the away end. No pubs that way - one or two if you walk away from the ground. HR is a Thameslink route so anywhere like St Pancras, Farringdon, City Thaneslink, Blackfriars is where you are able to get it via a TL from Charlton for instance.
Wimbledon station is 16 minutes from Waterloo (platforms 1-5 usually around every 2-3 minutes or so). Plenty of pubs and loads of choice for food. It’ll take 20+ minutes to get to the ground -I live in SW19 so would instinctively walk) but you can get a bus, taxi or train to Plough Lane.
Or same train to Wimbledon from Waterloo and get off one stop earlier at Earlsfield (so around 12 minutes on the train). A couple of pubs, some food choices, obvious not as many as Wimbledon, walk to ground will take 15-20 minutes but you’d be approaching it from the side the away end is located. Bus is no doubt an alternative. District line also goes to Wimbledon. Tram also if you are coming from Croydon.
after the game and in no hurry to get back, if you like ‘Indian’ food consider makjng your way to Tooting (again, I’d walk but bus is available as the routes serve St George’s hospital). Tooting Broadway to Tooting Bec is primarily where you’ll be spoilt for choice. The old indoor market is also definitely also worth checking out for food, drink and a generally good night out (the last bit probably depends on how old you are). Northern line takes you back to town and I think runs all night (certainly into the early hours)5

many Thanks letthegoodtimesroll just the sort of info I needed0
-

If you are ‘young’ then making your way over to the Northern Line and heading for Clapham is probably going to appeal even more though by starting early you’ll probably be too wasted to last the pace.Valianterith said:many Thanks letthegoodtimesroll just the sort of info I neededThough you could get off the Wimbledon train at Clapham Junction after the game and stroll down to Northcote Road0

Also the 155 bus can take you from parts of south east london to St Georges Hospital (last stop) and its a 10 minute walk to the ground

Looking forward to this match, be interesting to see if the groundsman has got the blood out of the pitch from Ryan Innis's act of heroism2
