Looking to get some tickets, including for a pretty young one (7 I think?).  Normally I'd avoid the north stand upper with a chld that young for obvious language reasons (ha ha) and only the lower stands are open anyway, but I'm wondering if anyone knows what it's like at a freindly (obviously less people).  Otherwise I'll probably go block A or B west.

Cheers.

The lower tier of the Covered is usually empty for these sorts of games. Most seem to sit in the West. I'd be surprised if there are more than 4/500 in the Covered End. In fact, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Portsmouth outnumber us for this.
  • To really claim to have spent many hours in the Covered End Choir, which basically means the part of the ground sometimes also referred to as Lower North, your 7 year old needs to start somewhere. The Pompey game sounds ideal as there will be less fans around to hear him/her swear if it’s a problem.

 Not actually my 7 year old.  Funnily enough, they are cousins who live in Pompey.  This one doesn't support Pompey though, so I think he feels better about bringing them to what is obviously a far superior ground experience   I'll be sure to try and sneak them away from him into the club shop to get them kitted out and turn them away from Spurs forever

Noted about the swearing.  I'll be sure to teach them some.  I also plan on teaching them some songs about Pompey which they'll hopefully repeat on the train on the way home ha ha

the swearing swearing thing really bothers me.
They’re only words. Everyone uses them
    it doesn’t matter honestly.
And football is where a man used to go to let off some steam on a Saturday afternoon.

Really, only words are they, and "everyone" uses them...broad statement, it certainly matters where there are kids around surely.
I know it's a football ground and emotions can get heated, but everything in moderation, and awareness of your surroundings ain't too much to ask is it...🤷‍♂️

    No:)  Not at all.

I'm really not some knee jerk gammon twat but people swear - everyone will at one time or another and you'll hear worse on telly most of the time now.

I just think its a very strange thing to get annoyed about - kids present or not - you do know what kids see on the phones these days dont you?  I HATE them by the way. Phones, not kids.

The kid is 7 and likely won't have a phone and goes to bed before the watershed.

Kids these days definitely have phones by 7, and are probably more fluent in coding than the average 37 year old.

And now someone of their own chosen gender goes to let off steam at a time of Sky’s choosing.

I'll just add that we had a great time today, got the six year old into a kit (and didn't even spend on myself!) and said bell guy was being led away in handcuffs after the game  :#  :D

He runs an antique book store, but at football becomes a drunken idiot.  He is quite often banned from their ground for things like getting his privates out in public and abusive sexual language.

If the above is true, and no reason to doubt it, how is this nonce allowed to live life like he does?

There are a few more but that sums him up.  I think he was viewed as a legend by their support years ago, but now he is rather unpopular.
  • Gross.  You wouldn't want your club associated with that would you?

I have to say Pompey are treading on thin ice with this one. If that is how she identifies then it is her right to use the toilets assigned to her gender, irrespective of the presence of her penis.
