Lots of work also going on in the lounges at the Valley, new electrical fittings, Charlton TV lounge now the Vice Presidents' Lounge, seats in stands been cleaned, steps repainted, shop re-fitted, Valley Central re-furbed, new pitch, new parking signs!
None of those ever scored a goal but getting the off the pitch stuff right helps the on the field stuff.1 -

I think they have been listed as historic monuments7 -
We have to give Andy Scott credit as think he got in Dr Will Abbott and the stuff we are seeing now was what he spoke about in first interviews.

The ONLY thing I can find to gripe about is how Dr Will refers to us as Charlton Athletic Football Club when he talks, mate just say "us" or "here" or "Charl'un"0

You have to say that what’s going on is very very encouraging. Money being spent on back of house staff and on infrastructure and an upgrading pretty much everywhere. Looking like we’re getting back on a professional footing all over the club which can only be good going forward. Fair play to the owners for this. Feeling like we’re getting back to being a well run football club again. Getting it right on the pitch is the tricky one but we’re moving forward on all fronts.13

So with all of this work going on & money being spent on the infrastructure are there any whispers that maybe we're negotiating with the Belgian over bringing The Valley & SL back into ownership by the Football club ?0

Impressive stuff... credit where credit is due to the owners, doesn't sound cheap2

Worth repeating what I said on the Friendlies thread:
Jason Pearce expressed the sentiments above and also felt that Nathan Jones influence is running through the club.

Duchetelet's daughter was definately shown around the Valley as I spoke to her then.
Saying "negotiations" might be putting it too strongly but the UK directors have said they are talking. That is a start but they have also played down the need to own the Valley, a line, as usual, Ronnie has swallowed hook, line and sinker.
Before we get too carried away, Sandgaard also spent money on the training ground but that's not to say the current investment isn't desirable, needed or welcome.
What appears different and better is that the changes are driven by medical and football professionals.
But the proof of the pudding will be in the eating.
If it results in fewer injuries and better results then it has worked.
Until then it is input, not outcome.21 -
Think the difference is that TS made the changes due to his wild dream of getting Cat 1 status as he thought it would bring in more money. These changes seem to be practical reasons for practical benefit.6

I have every confidence that The Valley and Sparrows Lane will be returned into the clubs hands in due course, but for now the main aim of the new ownership seems to be getting the infrastructure right, in effect rebuilding from the roots up after the previous ownership farce we have had, I would say at least Thomas had his heart in the right place at first, just a bit naive at times...3

Do we know how much cash has been spent on these improvements?
I’ve no idea what the pitch costs are and updating the gym equipment might be.
