I just don’t think we have been very good today.
There was a period of about 20 minutes in the first half where we looked decent - but apart from that it’s been very lacklustre and one paced.
It’s just a friendly but will be interested to hear Jones comments after this.5 -
Who was it who said "in NJ we trust..."!?

As long as they learn from this it won't all be a waste of time, sure NJ has a few ideas to give them at FT...2
-
Should have stuck with Jacko.6
-
It's concerning as bar the goalkeeper, Aneke, and maybe Ramsay for Watson, you'd expect that to be the lineup against Wigan0
-
What a steaming pile of shit this is. Same old shit defence shit midfield and shit strike
force who can’t play more then 25 mins. Heap of shit0 -

I dont think a defeat is the worst thing in the world in Pre-Season.
It can bugger momentum and a bit of confidence, but you're never winning promotion this early into a season
However I hope Jones is learning more from his players, than if we were winning comfortably each week
e.g. How individuals cope when we go a goal behind, which players dont let their heads drop etc.19 -
Glad to see everyone is taking a friendly defeat well20

To put this into perspective - Preston beat Liverpool last week and I don’t think Liverpool are suddenly thinking they’ll be mid table or Preston winning the league - pre season means absolutely diddly squat, in my opinion!14

I'm impressed with the.....commitment to streaming a pre-season friendly.1
-
I remember when Scott Fraser and Charlie Kirk looked like world beaters 367 days ago at Millwall.8

So, still no.clean sheet in any of our pre-season games. No change there then.
And now we aren't scoring either.
In Jonas we trust eh....🙄3 -
Whats that you say? Charlton Life overreacting to the score of a preseason friendly...?

As I said before, some of those players need more minutes. Godden and Ahadme didn't feature against Palace, while the likes of Small, Kanu and Taylor are only getting 15 today.

Give it 10 league games into the new season - then we can see if NJ has got a grip.
Way too early to start having a go and i am ultra cynical !

I don't mind loosing a pre- season, it's the lack of midfield creativity, lack of nous, no physicality; that's so disappointing.4
-
FT 2-0, not a good day out, but we did gift them both goals, so on to Portsmouth and ultimately Wigan...learn today and produce when it matters...4

Mitchell is going to be a helluva player. Don't know if it's this season, or at least this calendar year with us, but all the tools are there.6
-
Of course the result of friendlies does not matter. But ignoring the result...
Our defence cannot keep a clean sheet
Our midfield is not creating opportunities and looks lightweight.
Our (new) forwards are not scoring goals.
I think that is a problem, don't you?10 -

The second goal happens when you change most of the team, but the bigger worry is the lack of creativity and zip in the first 60.
Jacko will be pleased though. He made a L1 side look quite ordinary.3
