T.V Sound

I have just bought a new T.V and the sound is atrocious.I have had three T.Vs over the last six years and the sound seems to be getting worse instead better.
I'am sure with todays techology sound could be improved.perhaps they want everyone to buy Soundbars or sound systems.
The one I have just bought was only £424. I suppose if I bought a 98 inch one the sound would be better.

Might it just be your ears Del?0

I use an amplifier for the sound. One that is made for a hifi stack. Still got the same TV for at least 10 years.0

You won't generally get good sound at that level. At that price much better to focus on the screen quality and supplement with a soundbar, a good one can be had for £150-£200.

Today's TV's are so slim that there is no room for decent speakers. In addition, they often point down or backwards rather than towards you which doesn't help.
The only likely solution is to buy a soundbar. For the money, the Roku Streambar gets decent reviews. A bonus feature is that it has the ability to cut the volume on over-loud commercials. £130 at an Argos near you.

What about getting a sound bar to boost the noise?1

Its nothing to do with the screen size, more about what kind of model you bought? Towards budget end or top end?0

They could add the speakers to the side of the T.V facing forwards.

I have an LG tv. Bought it about 4 years ago. Sound is fine. I only have it at 13 or 14 & that's good enough for me.
Obviously if you have difficulty hearing then you might need it booster somehow.0
