So, Welcome back everybody to The Valley for this last Pre-Season friendly V Portsmouth, and the first chance to see for real the new pitch which has been extensively followed in its progress with photo's by @Henry Irving
We have beaten Pompey 40 times in the 116 meetings between the sides, including seven in the last 11. Pompey have won 46 times, with 30 of the meetings ending all square, we shared a goalless draw at The Valley back in February...Remember, this is a friendly...😉
We can only hope that Nathan has his first team just about sorted by now, but of course there could be some late tweeking still to be done, namely in the GK position...but here we go...
Looking forward to seeing the line-up, when available...

Congratulations Greg Docherty on been named as new club captain, he's worn the armband for the Addicks during pre-season, first game in his official capacity...3

May I be the first to say if we lose .. what a load of crap, Jones does not know what he is doing! New owners just looking for a quick buck, relegation looming.
If we win .. Yay, Championship here we come, make Jones MOTY right now, New owners are gods.
Delete as appropriate.16 -
Not really fussed on the result today, what I’m hoping for is a performance to give everyone a bit of a lift going into the new season! Also hoping that a few of them get close to the full 90 in terms of minutes.5

Presumably the starting 11 should be pretty much our 1st 11 next week ? Interesting to see if Chucks starts again2

Would be good to see a definite team today with square pegs in square holes and some attacking intent and defensive solidity. Also some set piece plans. And creating a few chances. Not fussed with result.

I'm on my way. First time I would have seen the new recruits so I'm hoping I'll be impressed.
Also hoping that the starting 11 will roughly resemble the same 11 that starts next week, baring the odd niggle or two.2 -
I think jones is expecting a clean sheet1

Interesting that Edwards, Anderson and Campbell start instead of Small, Berry and Godden/Kanu. Other than those positions I expect that's the starting XI2

I assumed he’d play the starting 11 for Wigan, but surely that can’t be it?0

Expected Small to start but not knowing how players are doing in training I’m really looking forward to today0

Maybe a concussion protocol.
