AMB has had number 1 taken off him and Fraser and Ness don't have numbers. Feels fairly damning for those three then. Nice that Campbell has been given 7 and is obviously highly thought of, wasn't that long ago he was most of the way out the door16
-
No Lucas Ness.0
-
No number for Fraser
No No.10 -
TC must feel on top of the world being given the no. 7 shirt by NJ. What a vote of confidence that is.21

And a video announcement

Definitely looks like we will be getting a number 1 in by the looks of that .2
-
Got to say though, as a person disproportionately upset by dodgy squad numbers there's not a lot to dislike there. Ramsay has redeemed himself, Jones has made a sensible switch, REG and Coventry aren't in the 40s anymore and everyone is roughly where they should be. We've even left space for a proper keeper at 1, a new midfielder at 14 and a centre back at 15. Nature is healing.5
-
Number 6 should not be a midfielder. European woke nonsense that has no place in the English game28
-
Stuart Balmer coming in10
-
Though at last check 10 was the cursed shirt so sort of think we should have left it on Fraser2

So confirmation that Ness and Fraser will be out the door if possible.1

Does anyone have an insight into how
squad numbers are decided at a professional level?

As I mentioned in the rumours thread is it not a bit weird they made Fraser and Ness do the name pronunciation video, but then not the shirt number one.
Could have just given them some random number and it wouldn’t have an affect on anything - well apart from Garymanilow’s anger levels.
3 -
Docherty getting 10 is Jones telling us don’t worry our creative goalscoring midfielder is already here3

Those name pronunciation videos are with every player at every club each summer and set up for Sky and other broadcasters so that the commentators can know how to say every player’s name. The club wanted to piggy back off of it and make some content.FishCostaFortune said:As I mentioned in the rumours thread is it not a bit weird they made Fraser and Ness do the name pronunciation video, but then not the shirt number one.

It's pretty crap content. I'm not sure it ticks any of the PR/marketing boxes.Callumcafc said:

We have 7 homegrown lads in our 1st team squad. Really good to see.6

Why dont Fraser & Ness have shirt numbers ? Surely if they are currently here they should have a number. Wont they be involved in the cup match next Tuesday. Say we need them next week ?
If I were them I would be downing tools....." no number then you dont want me"
Also says a lot that we dont name a No1 keeper. Why not name either AMB or Mannion No1 and give any new keeper a number if/when they sign.
Gives off bad signals all round13 -

Gives off bad signals all round'Why have we given Ness and Fraser 28 and 30? Changing their numbers from their original numbers is insulting, if I were them I'd down tools. Give off bad signals'.'Why do Ness and Fraser still have 5 and 10? Gives the impression they're still going to be part of our first team squad, we'll never go up if that's the level of player we're keeping. But what do I know, I'm always wrong aren't I :'('Insert into thread as appropriate etc9 -
I’m sure they have been given numbers on the early 30’s but what is the point in publishing them if they won’t be involvedgolfaddick said:Why dont Fraser & Ness have shirt numbers ? Very much doubt they will play Tuesday. All those who do not get a game on Saturday will be the bulk of the team, with some young lads on the bench like Mbick.golfaddick said:Why dont Fraser & Ness have shirt numbers ?
