Has looked very mid table league one so far but I can definitely see his attributes. Think it’s clear that him and TC are not the combo to take us forward

Watching him I think he's going to benefit when the team as a whole is more cohesive going forward, does thankless running and wears CB's down for Chuks to come on and take advantage

First time seeing him today and thought he'd have a bit more of a presence about him. How much did we pay for him?

I wouldn't want to mark him for 90 minutes.

    Right handful.

I think if anyone is complaining that the target man doesn't have enough pace then they would be quite confused. Any good target man needs to win headers, hold the ball up and ideally have a little bit of something else about then as well. Yann had some class on the ball, for Ahadme it's a ridiculous engine and a desire to get into defenders' faces. I think Godden will be a smarter partner for him than TC is. You saw straight away that Godden knew to get nearer to Chuks when that high ball came in
  • Until he gets a proper strike partner with no disrespect to Tyreece Campbell, that plays closer to him, I suspect he’s going to struggle to make an individual impact. Having said that his work rate and ability to occupy the defenders makes me think that when Godden and then Leaburn start with him he’ll be very effective.

    Maybe it’s not his partner’s fault ..

Far too early to judge him.

Docherty also hasn’t contributed a lot yet (I expected more with him being made Captain).

Hopefully both will come good. We need them to.

Campbell is a rookie front man and drifted way too far from Ahadme to form a strike partnership.

Maybe Campbell needs a loan, or to go back to being brought on late on where his pace can hurt teams. He's not offering enough as a starting striker and I think
It would be good to see Godden and Ahadme start against Bolton.

I think it’s unlikely that he won’t be starting games this season. As big and physical as he is, Leaburn hasn’t looked good as a hold up striker so far so don’t expect him to start of Ahadme when he’s fit

Leaburn will most definitely start ahead of Ahadme when fit!

Don’t know yet .  But Ahadme doesn’t have that position nailed on .  At a guess , I’d say Leaburn with Godden.

I meant out of who we have available now tbf. With Leaburn injured and Chuks unable to start, I'd probably go Ahadme and Godden. Would even rather see Kanu and Ahadme based on what we saw of DK last season.

Not 100% sure, but I think it was about the same amount we sold Alfie May for.

My point is that he’s not a hold up striker like everyone seems to think he is purely because of his height.
  • Ahadme has nobody to play off or lay off to all the time Campbell drifts into wide positions. It’s a futile task but he sticks to it. I think he runs the centre backs ragged but lives on scraps as a striker. Godden and Leaburn are strikers unlike Tyreece. That’s not to say Campbell didn’t play well. Just not as a front two.

Works hard, physical, takes zero shit from the opposing centre backs, and is a top out ball we’ve been missing for a long time. Fully on the Gassan train

Ahadme + Godden for 60/70 mins then Chuks plus Tupac to finish imo.
  • Think he’s going to need at least 10 games, before he settles in.

Today he didn't get a single foul called against him. Another game he's going to draw 3 or 4 fouls alone. He's there to hold the ball up, play in others and be a nuisance. Pointless him holding it up, looking back and seeing TC 20 yards away

The issue for me is that he's a £1 million target man, but hit the ball up to him, and it doesn't stick.

I don't think it requires much more analysis than that.

He was against Leyton Orient CBs today. Not sure what hope he'll have against Santos next week.

Compare to when Chuks came on. Suddenly those long balls were sticking.

If we'd got him on a free i'd say decent business, guy works hard and while he might not have a striker's instinct, he gets in defenders faces. But we've paid top dollar for this league and he just doesn't seem worth it.

Not seeing the 4 year deal being a great option. Needs to up his game a lot. Get grafting !!
