So, he's out for the season and Jones doesn't give injury updates?

How long does an X Ray take and for it to be assessed?

They must know by now the extent of his injury, time to feed the masses!

Or are they being a tease?
For this type of injury it will be assessed straight away by a senior radiographer. If it’s a fracture the on call radiologist will be consulted with input from the orthopaedic team to assess the need for surgery. If the investigation is done in a private clinic a radiologist will be present but the surgical input would be the same.
I realise it’s not as simple as I make out.

I hadn’t thought about this before but presumably the club sends players to private specialists, rather than A&E? Or do they employ relevant people and I’m not talking about Will Abbott?
The club has used private medical diagnostics for many years. For sure on an injury like this one he would have been seen straight after the game. The club will know what the situation is already, I suspect we won't be told until until the next game... unless something leaks out from inside the club.
When I was in Charlton youth squad, I had to have a cartilage out of one knee and other knee checked. I was sent to the hospital in Greenwich, cannot remember which one, on the bottom road from Deptford, in 1960.  It was a NHS hospital but they had a surgeon who did all of their operations. I was visited by Charlie ????, who was in charge of medical problems at Charlton, after the operation.
Would have been The Miller General Hospital and I’m betting the surgeon was a John Buck. He did my cartilage ops x 3
  • Thanks for this link. Never realised any of that. He did three cartilage operations for me and I was always quite chuffed he was surgeon to CAFC. What an interesting character and life.

Great news (about Josh not SHG's cartilage operations).

Total relief for the lad, hope he comes back stronger and equally, what a pleasant change that we have a more than suitable player in Thierry to step in and rain some havoc on the opposition.

    John Buck and Charlie Hall.
Thank you, exactly right. How did you know? Do you know which hospital as well? 😄

    I'm guessing The Brook.
My late mother was John Buck's secretary and knew Charlie well.

Damn, that means months rather than years!

Glad to hear it and gives Small a chance to showcase himself. He really needs to focus on end product playing wingback.

Good news on Josh Edwards 👏🏼
If it's just a few weeks- 4 max.

Bad news on the state of CAFC middle age and old fans who would be put down if they were horses.

    🐴
Neigh ?  Oh yes they would.

If his recovery goes to schedule he'll have a minor setback in a few weeks and that'll be that for the season.

Assuming the Rotherham game gets called off for international call ups (Anderson, Dixon, Kanu, AMB, anyone else?) then maybe we could be looking at the week afterwards at Shrewsbury 14th Sep which would only mean 2 league games missed potentially, maybe 3 if another week’s needed.

How long have you been supporting Charlton? With our injuries, the days turn into weeks, the weeks to months, and even years..

Rodwell and Elliott were in the Pelton Arms on Saturday evening. Rodwell said he felt the Rotherham game would go ahead as they were likely to have no one missing and us only 2.

Well this has gone a fair way off piste.

While I'm here, does anyone want to see a picture of my surgical bunions?

No thanks.  I'm still getting over Elfbourgs toenails!

Seem to remember Elfs posting a photo of his plates in flip-flops a couple of years ago, and chucking my guts up then.
