Whole of SE10 and SE7 is gridlocked due to the earlier Blackwall Tunnel fire. Good luck to anyone unlucky enough to live in the area and needing to drive

Bugsby's Way and Asda car park for context0 -
I see Sadiq Khan has got his way - finally all of SE London is a 20 mph zone 😄.

I miss my flat overlooking the tunnel approach (and the thames) where I could sit at my desk or on my sofa and laugh at all the little people stuck in traffic on days like this.
Then I traded that in for a house which hadn't been touched since the 60s and needed loads of work and has taken all of my time, money, energy and mental health over the last 2.5 years making it liveable. I've gained chronic burnout though so I'm totally winning. Sigh.7 -

No more working from home and back to the office they say...it's a no-brainer when the roads are like that!1 -
How could this happen when we are not playing at home4

Wonder if that box junction has a camera0

I mentioned this on Twitter earlier. Got off at Greenwich station and walked along high road and up Royal Hill. Absolute carnage at 6ish. Everybody - man, woman, bus, coach and Lorries at a standstill.Never seen it so bad. I pity anyone stuck in that.1

Got a bud from Sidcup to Bexleyheath earlier and traffic everywhere seemed crazy0

Live in Greenwich. Went out ‘briefly’ and five hours later.
Looked like lots of West Ham fans parked up near North Greenwich which made things worse.
Amazing how vulnerable the network is to just one connection going down. Everyone moves around each day because one accident didn’t happenCan see the benefit of Silvertown on nights like tonight. But understand it’s likely to draw in more freight (that can’t currently use Blackwall), only one car lane and why should people in this part of London have to pay when we do not benefit from the density of river crossings (or decent public transport) further west and elsewhere..5 -
The south east and surrounding area is so over populated with people and vehicles its no wonder these things happen, in fact the whole country is.
How many times are there massive hold ups on motorways after one vehicle has broken down FFS.....Not helped by there not being a hard shoulder on those motorways.3 -

And all I seem to see on the road these days are learner drivers!
Called it years ago. The transport infrastructure in this country is seriously f**d! And it's only going to get worse.
No government has got the first clue on how to deal with it.1 -
