The Sky Sports advert, filmed at the Valley

Although this advert is constantly shown on TV, I don’t recall ever reading on here any of Sky making this.
Can anyone fill in the details. When was it filmed, was there 27,000 people in the stadium?

Looks heavy on the CGI!9

Yeah noticed this the other day. Genuinely at first I was like wow what a nice stadium, then I saw Valiant House and the trees and was like, oh it's us!
I'm gonna say CGI? As it seems like it would cost more than the bother to get that many people in, surely someone would have noticed that many people filtering in and out on a non-matchday as well.
Either way, excellent ground use for an ad.2 -
It’ll be done the same way they do big crowds in films. Film a section of people that can then be replicated/slightly modified to make it look full

for us to have filled the stadium it would have been filmed in sepia and then colourised.9

The new away end looks very smart0

Quite a few adverts have been filmed at The Valley over the past few years. I'm sure Paddy Power had one too, but all of the red was made blue.0

Up there as one of the most irritating ads on TV at the moment.
Assume they filmed a block of 50-100 people and extrapolated it to make the ground seem full.3 -
The first close up is of a lady wearing the 98 Quaser shirt.

Tracey Leaburn gets a swift cameo profile moment I believe.1

During the Bolton game I started singing
“love lift us up where we belong”
but lucky it fell on deaf ears9 -

We should hijack that song so that every other teams fan associates it with Charlton every time the advert is shown, the second line of the chorus for the actual words was clearly penned with Charlton in mind though it’s too cheesy imo to be used other than as an intro for something else
jones lifts us up where we belong
where eagles cry
under a Valley sky
jones lifts us up where we belong
when we’re champions we know
The beer will flow, the road is long so we’ll sing this song…
Valley Floyd Road, the mist rolling in from the Thames2 -
Well the club contacted me and asked me to be a crowd extra for a new advert filming at the Valley. It was only me that turned up so they used CGI to duplicate me 27,000 times.4

CGI hasn’t just filled the ground, but also rebuilt parts of it…1

Quickly googles CGI…7

There's a brief write up about it here..

I can't remember the thread it was on but this was mentioned and I said at the time if we get paid every time the advert is on the club will make a fortune.1

I did wonder (albeit eventually!) if some of it looked different, but generally too much the same not to know. I think I looked up at the end and saw the tower block behind the Jimmy Seed and the penny dropped0 -

I think I saw on Social Media both Fans Advisor and the Current Supporter Of The Year were involved0

Awe shucks...I didn't know you cared...🙄0 -
I remember it being filmed at The Valley about 2 months ago. They even borrowed a couple of shirts from the museum. There were only about 30 fans dressed in various team shirts.1

The four??
A quiet place
Silent witness
Have all been filming on the Charlton riverside over the last couple weeks.1 -
It was filmed over the summer.
It was mentioned on here at the time as I posted some photos, probably on the new pitch update thread.
The quasar shirt you see was loaned by the museum.
There were maybe a couple of hundred extras and one blank white overhead flag. The rest is CGI.
They also interviewed a lot of real fans of many EFL in kits for vox pops but ive not seen those used.
Should have been a nice fee for Charlton.0
