Anyway back to hilarious comparisons between Stockport and Madrid...  Nope? Got nothing.
The mighty Stockport have never lost in the final of the Champions League/European Cup.  Little Real Madrid have lost in three finals.

In 2020-21, Real Madrid only finished second in La Liga, the Spanish football league and were not even the highest-placed team from Madrid.  Stockport County finished first in the National League ahead of all teams in England and Wales.

On a point of order, Charlie Mullins was a vocal and influential remain supporter.

    https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2018/oct/05/millionaire-refuses-take-down-bollocks-brexit-poster

"The millionaire, who has a workforce of about 440, is one of the country’s best-known backers of the campaign to stop Brexit.

In 2016, he supported Gina Miller’s successful high court bid to give parliament a meaningful vote over the final Brexit deal and he donated to her End the Chaos campaign to publish facts about Brexit".

    You mention influential.
It is possible to identify where his support was in 2019.
It is best not to persue this any more. Leave won, we suffer, that’s that.

I'm fairly sure this thread was politicised from the very start, as we all know the reason why this move was denied.

I can’t believe Real Madrid tried to sign someone from Pimlico Plumbers…

  • And yet by contrast we were able to sign Jamaica international Kaheim Dixon.🙂

    Stop the silly politics.

Each situation on its own merits is the point.

In the world of Coaching, there are many quantum leaps by coaches from lower down the football pyramid.
Andy Mangan knew assistant manager Davide Ancelotti from coaching courses so Real wanted yet another coach added to the rota.

I was surprised when I first heard an Assistant manager and a coach at a Kent league club had got the gig with Man City's under 16's a few years ago but he was known to the academy director which helped.

A freelance coach I know has worked one to one at Arsenal and Chelsea with International players over the last 9 months after quitting a manager's job in the Isthmian league.

Managers and players don't go up 7 levels but with attacking or defence coaches or individual one on one's it's quite common and you just won't hear about it.

Shame for Mangan but that's politics.

I think the point is that pre-Brexit, merit didn't come into it within the EU.

You can never admit you're wrong, can you?

You assumed he was a Brexiteer because in your warped mind anyone who disagrees with you MUST be. You were then proven to have made an incorrect assumption but try to obfuscate and come up with "Its best not to pursue this anymore". No, of course you dont want to pursue it, because you were wrong.

Anyway, close the thread, shut it down. Get rid of this tedious rubbish. Its fucking boring. I almost wish I'd voted "Leave" now just so I could annoy people like you even more.
