Thought we may as well have a match thread...
We kick off the Bristol Street Motors Trophy campaign Tonight with a trip to the Cledara Abbey Stadium to face Cambridge United and go into the tie looking to continue the positive momentum after the 1-0 victory at Shrewsbury Town on Saturday, courtesy of Gassan Ahadme's first goal for the club. Cambridge currently sit second in Group K having already faced Bromley earlier this month. Following a dramatic 3-3 draw at Hayes Lane, they sealed the bonus point with a penalty shootout victory.
So, lets see what side Nathan puts out, with an important match coming up Saturday, priorities will be on show
Dan Potts and Allan Campbell will make their full debuts in tonight’s clash against Cambridge United as Nathan Jones makes 11 changes.
Jamaican international Kaheim Dixon and academy prospects Alan Mwamba and Tommy Reid are involved in a matchday squad for the very first time, the trio are joined on the bench by Josh Edwards, who has been sidelined for the last month with an ankle injury.
Charlton are expected to continue in a 3-5-2 formation with Rarmani Edmonds-Green, Zach Mitchell and Potts, who will captain the side, lining up ahead of goalkeeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer.
Tennai Watson and Tayo Edun will operate as wing-backs, with Terry Taylor, Karoy Anderson and Allan Campbell forming Jones’ three-man midfield behind strikers Matty Godden and Daniel Kanu.

Interesting team selection. The "second 11" of first teamers, but a very young bench, with 3 potential debutants and Edwards.
Oh and kick off delayed until 7:10, as our coach is held up in traffic.1 -

Mwamba is a Midfielder, attack minded. Decent with the ball, he's normally the second most attacking of the central 3. For example yesterday for the under 21's Kedwell was the deepest, with Mwamba going forward more, though not as much as Huke. I’ve watched the last few u21 streams (going back to FM research got me back into it haha). What type of player is Mwamba?
I’d compare him with Jordan Cousins. Full of running and energy, not as technically good as Huke, at u21 level could probably play a holding role, box to box or attacking midfielder role.
Cynical view could be Huke and Kedwell have already made their debuts so giving Mwamba his ticks off another one and boosts our academy productivity numbers.
He obviously had a good 1st year as an u18 last season as he’s signed pro when he could have had another year in the u18s.2 -

Dixon on the bench - hopefully we'll geta cameo. Interested to see Godden and Kanu from the start - they looked lively as pair on Saturday and on each other's wavelength but it was stretched game at that point.5

Do they not have the rule that we have to use a certain number of the first team from the previous match this season, or are we just not giving a shit about that then?
