On Saturday my youngest boy will be one of the Mascots courtesy of Young Addicks. I don't know who is more excited at the prospect - him or me ;-). Here's hoping we are crowned Champions on the day too.

Thanks to Wendy, Rick, Sue, Bob and everyone else involved with YA.
Fantastic day for everyone and all our hopes fulfilled.

Was anyone else totally underwhelmed by the so called 'goodie bag' for the kids yesterday? Thank you letters from the managers, 10% off club shop voucher and a stationary pack.

TBF they had a keyring and a pack of haribo. I wouldn't have expected more given the cost of being a Junior Red is pretty low and there are plenty of benefits worth having.  They probably over egged expectations by calling it a goodie bag and should have just said a free gift or something.

Why were kids getting a goodie bag?

It was Junior Reds day with them taking a walk around the pitch before the game.
  • In the last few years the kids received Charlton gym bags, drinks bottles and Floyd teddies for being VIP members which made it more of an incentive to upgrade. This year they all received the same goody bag which in all honesty was massively underwhelming.
  • £15 for standard. £35 for VIP.

Below are the benefits with those in the blue square just for VIPs.

In recent years both my kids have been mascots through it and both have been in the guard of honour. I am sure I am lucky but the VIP has been wonderful value for me.

Glad I didn't get another plastic water bottle tbh, there is enough plastic in the world.

    Welcome to The Vally

Is it April 1st already ?  Was there a prize for the youngster who could identify the most errors?

Surely this should be brought to the notice of the relevant SMT personnel !
  • it has to be some sort of competition and done on purpose?

To be fair,  when they typed it they were multitasking and also testing the new goalies gloves.
  • What I pasted above is not the letter from Saturday but on our official website as the benefits for joining...!
