Fan Zone plan submitted for the Valley

  • Jenny Westney said she was unaware of a meeting between the club and residents, and that antisocial behaviour after matches was sometimes “unbelievable”.

“We don’t know when the games are,” she said. “A few days before you might notice a car parking notice up, if you’ve got a car and you take notice of these sorts of things. The effect on the residents is very disturbing.

someone get Jenny a fixture list.

Plus the use of language. "Disturbing" and "unbelievable"

She goes on to say “This increase in sales of alcohol worries me and worries the residents in the area quite a lot, particularly those residents who are adjacent to the car park. I have been in their gardens myself and witnessed the sounds and the smells that are coming from this fan zone.”

The fan zone sounds more like a zoo.
Good job she's not in the north stand bogs!

As for not knowing when games are taking place get an fing fixture list off the internet you daft cow…..that will cover 90% of games that will be played by the two first teams.
    Unbelievable behaviour after matches!
Nothing like a bit of OTT exaggeration to attempt to win an argument. 🙄
  • Good luck keeping away fans out, that could prove tricky unless you have to produce ID before you are allowed in...

Most of them won't come anywhere near the west stand car park anyway as they get filtered out down Valley Grove
  • I popped down there earlier and noticed that the "forthcoming matches" board, which is something very handy to have when dealing with neighbours determined to find something to complain about, has been taken down.

She probably was waiting for a telegraphic message to come in on her ticker-tape machine or for the Wireless Light Programme to issue a radiographic communication.

A simple check of match tickets/season tickets would be an easy filter

  • Always wanted to live near the Valley. I'll drop her a line and offer to buy her place. 'Dear old Jenny' can then move somewhere that is more serene.
  • “Charlton Village and Riverside” makes it all sound rather bucolic.
