Liked what I've seen from him so far. These are the types of signings that separate the clever clubs from the rest. Can you go down to League Two, or Non League, or the Championship in Scotland and find that player that can make the step up? There aren't a lot so you have to be quick and you have to be clever. And I think in Edwards we got a good one.

Ramsay is in a similar category and you could argue Small was too as he was sort of in the loan wilderness.

Solid 7 or 8 out of 10 every week. A proper Charlton full back.
Decent cross and useful long throw on him too.

Need to be looking out for bargains like Edwards, shows they’re out there.

Very solid defensively. Looking better in this formation we’re now using that gets him involved in attacks but puts less pressure on him to be the primary source of attacking width on the left.

Feels like wingers almost never run past him and he’s excellent at winging free kicks in our defensive third. Possibly our best summer signing

I like him, started well, then got injured and now back to he’s best.
  • He is a fantastic signing. Strong, powerful, decent height, fast, good tackler, good bloke, long throw, decent distribution.  Will play in the Championship I would expect.  Hopefully with us.

That’s what NJ talked about with him, and from what I remember it wasn’t really something Edwards had considered until that point.

I’d be surprised, he played in a position that Scotland have lots of good, young-ish, players in. Give Scotlands propensity to have crazy injury problems though never say never.

With the amount of injuries Robertson and Tierney seem to get I wouldn't be surprised if he's in around the international reckoning within the next year or so. Looks an absolute bargain if we did pay under 100k.

He’s a great player. As you say a proper full back. Another Jones recruitment.

As individuals over the years they have had some absolutely fantastic players.

There’s one thing I’m not keen on, perhaps it because I’m old & old school, when it gets in front on a forward running back towards our goals, he goes down drawing the foul.
I have to accept that’s football these days.

It is, and one of the reasons we brought in Hylton was to help our young attacking players learn those things.

it’s one of his most important attributes in this side. it relives so much pressure and it’s not as if all other sides don’t do it. it might not be pleasant but if you’re the only team not doing it you’re going to be having to defend a lot more crosses than anyone else

From where I was sitting in the AC stand he was definitely fouled at least twice he didn’t go down easy , Colin Powell was a master at drawing fouls in his era absolutely fantastic 🙂

As others have posted, he's a cracking player, fits the Charlton mold. No nonsense, hard as nails, big engine, dependable. Hell of a throw on the lad. Very pleased he got his 1st last night. Great strike.
A quality signing, for 4 years. That disgusting tackle from Clare could of easily ended his career.
  • Good piece of scouting to sign him.

Did you introduce them to him? Calling them by the names you post on here.
