“If you have seen this kid play – he is 19 and came through the academy,” said Jones. “That is what we have  – TC (Tyreece Campbell) and Karoy Anderson. These are young kids that have come through the academy, who are fearless and truly outstanding. Zach Mitchell  was really close to being involved today and even starting.
    Jones does talk some bollocks.
He said "it's almost impossible to press Birmingham" after we've just spent 95 minutes successfully pressing them.

He also said it takes some time to implement the 4-4-2 box midfield set up, giving me the impression it's taken weeks to work on it.
Ok it may have taken weeks and I appreciate it's professional football,  but I'm pretty sure if we were playing a Sunday league game and set up 4-4-2 with the midfield 4 tucking in, 2 further forward it could be set up very quickly. (Awaits avalanche of tactician comments).
Jones said "It takes some team to implement that and today we implemented that", not time.

    Good point well made.
So I'm talking bollocks as well  :D

Chance he plays the Conor Coventry role against Stockport?

Would give us the flexibility to switch between the box midfield and 3-5-2 if Jones wanted that.

Think that’s pretty unlikely given we’ve not seen him in that role in any friendly/cup game. Is he even back fit? If he was the backup there then he’d have probably played the role against Cambridge to at least have a look at him there

Will either be Terry Taylor coming in as a straight swap or Campbell moving back next to Docherty with Berry or TC coming in to one of the 10s I’d guess

That would be the ultimate kick in the balls to Terry Taylor....

He is fit, was doing the “not in the squad” exercises on the pitch before Birmingham.

Think it’s more likely TT or REG take it but NJ see’s training and we don’t so if it happens it’ll be a credit to Zach

I could see it happening. NJ said Zach was very close to playing against Birmingham, and that wouldn't have been at the expense of Alex Mitchell or Lloyd Jones. So either that was as a thrid CB or alongside Coventry with Docherty playing instead of Anderson or Allan Campbell.

    Excellent.

Still only 19 so plenty of time for him to develop further.

Did that article say one of eight academy products in Jones' first team squad? Eight? Why does that ring a bell?

Brilliant news, once he gets a few games I think we could find it hard to drop him. Loads of potential with having both physical attributes and ability on the ball, two things both Gomez and Konsa showed when they were breaking through.

Well pleased with that. This lad has some very rare qualities for his age and I can see him playing at a very high level one day.

    Now where is Miles' signature?

Really pleased with this, he looked excellent against Cambridge. Has anyone told @Fanny Fanackapan, as the legendary tingle may just have gone into overdrive?

    The best news !

Have been a big fan of Zach's for several seasons, admiring his composure on the ball , his keen eye for a positive pass & his obvious love of playing for our famous football club.

Once given his chance to show what he can do in L1, I'm certain he will quickly become a fans' favourite.

    Onwards & upwards, young man!
