People are going to be upset when they see Tennai Watson starting, Terry Taylor dropped and Leaburn on the bench.
Callum you’ve had a shocker here!
    As usual
  • Be interesting to see how it goes, on paper feels like a strong team - but whether that will translate to a performance we will see.

Its a shame about Docherty, he looks like a top professional and you can see he takes being captain seriously - but at the moment I just can’t see what he offers in midfield.

    4-4-2 or 4-2-2-2?

You can never predict a Nathan Jones side, there was a time when the shite players we had were ever present.

Just hope we are not over stretching Miles too early. Lose him again for a couple of months and we are screwed with the unreliability of the others

I wouldn't mind seeing Ahadme, when fit, getting proper service from the midfield especially Taylor, probably have a better idea if he's a dud or not.

Does anybody else think that in the early part of the match the player we will see out wide the most in an advanced position will be Miles Leaburn?

If Taylor can deliver set pieces tonight like he did at the weekend not a chance Miles doesn’t get on the end of a couple of them

good looking line up, though I can't see Leaburn playing behind Godden, it must be the little un 'feeding off' the big un ..  also, I'd prefer Reg in the middle alongside Mitchell with Watson at right back .. Taylor gets another start, and not before time
this should be a tough tight game against a side with a very similar profile and playing record (this season) to us

ohhhhh like that starting 11a lot, wanted Taylor in (but didnt expect it), surprised docherty is the one to make way but not really much between him and A Campbell tbh.

I like the starting lineup but genuinely I'd rather see TC or Small instead of Campbell. Make me eat my words AC
  • Nice to hear the common sense approach on things from Peter Shirtliff...should be a good commentary tonight...

Looking forward to seeing that team, potentially our best front two and best two holding midfielders in a 4-2-2-2. Being Charlton though it doesn’t always work out as it looks on paper.
Berry or TC instead of Alan Campbell is the only other thing Id; have liked to see, but I can understand the selection for a midweek away game up north against one of the better teams in the division. Taylor looked absolutely cream crackered from about 80 mins onwards on Saturday so I did expect he would drop back to the bench today, but I don't mind seeing him given a chance to build on such a strong showing on Saturday.
Yes especially with Taylor's set piece delivery.
    That could be vital tonight.

He can also see and thread the early killer ball.

If Coventry plays the principal DM anchor role, no harm in allowing Taylor a little freedom to advance at times if opportunity allows.

BBC has it as 4-2-3-1, with Leaburn wide left.

Not far off what I'd hoped for. I'd rather have seen Tennai instead of Gillesphey but I get it. ACampbell is lucky to be in ahead of Docherty but hopefully he earns it tonight. Leaburn and Godden is exciting.

Plus going by reports both he and Taylor very knackard after Saturdays game.

Only time will tell tonight, we need Miles so much👍

Probably and surprisingly the best team we could have put out with the resources available. TC to come off the bench and scare then if we’re still in it.  At least we haven’t gone all defensive hoof-ball again.
