Nottingham Forest signed 22 players in the summer of 2022. When they kicked off against Crystal Palace on Monday only one of those players started the game - Dean Henderson, and he was playing for Palace.

Who was the guru in charge of recruitment at that point ?

It's not official, as yet, but Josh Tymon of Swansea has won the club's Goal of the Month trophy for October for his strike in the game against Sheffield United. What makes the achievement remarkable is that this was only his third ever goal in 177 professional league appearances. The award would have been even more worthy had he not volleyed the ball into his own net. Swansea's results for the month were 0-0, 0-1, 0-0, 0-1 and 0-1.
I found Dave Bassett's tale re his sacking by Elton John amusing. (Saturdays Mirror).
Bassett was summoned to John Reid's house. John Reid was a director at Watford and Elton John was there. Bassett recalls it was a sumptuous place, so large that it had a Little Chef half way up the drive. Ushered inside Bassett was amazed at the grandeur. The lounge was magnificent with cream leather sofas, lovely carpets and beautiful decor. As they sat down Elton handed him a glass of champagne and pointed to a cushion like a big dice with dots on each face. He says, 'Tonight Dave, we're playing a game, you throw that dice and if it lands on a 1 - 5 you get sacked'. Dave replies, 'Well they're not very good odds Elton, what happens if I throw a six?' Elton then informs him he gets to throw again.
They went on to get completely rat arsed. Bassett returns home and tells his wife it was a 'bloody good night'. Elton covered Bassett's severance pay, plus paid for a three week holiday in California for him and the family.
Man Utd have now lost more Premier League matches by three or more goals since Sir Alex Ferguson left the club (23 in 424 games) than they did in 1,035 league games under the Scot (22).
United lost 6 of their 1st 8 games under Ferguson and in his first 3 seasons only won the FA cup; sound familiar with Ten Hag.

Martin Edwards didn't sack Ferguson but in recent years Ferguson would've been sacked after finishing 11th yet alone 13th and gone back to Scotland and Aberdeen.
The golden Premier years followed and the rest is history for the hair dryer.
Noel Whelan is the only player with all the letters of 'Halloween' in his name to make a Premier League appearance on October 31, doing so in 1998 for Coventry City.
One following on from today's Championship game between West Brom and Burnley.
West Brom have had as many 0-0's in their last 13 regular season (not playoffs) league games (5), as they did in the previous 89.
WBA aren't unique in being one of the best sides in the division and struggling to find the net. I've just made the point on the EFL thread that Burnley scored 9 goals in their first two matches and just 8 in their subsequent 13.
Donald Trump played in goal for a Wolves youth team, apparently.
Pretty sure this has been proven as fake.
His dad wasn't even in the military but in any case he was born in 1905 which means that by the time big Don would've been old enough to play in Wolves' academy, his dad would've been too old to be in the military.
8th tier Lancing had a game called off due to international call ups. Two were called up by Bermuda, the other two were in the England squad for the minifootball 6 aside u23 World Cup.
Weirdest thing is he's playing a right back at left back, Gvardiol and a kid in the middle and Walker right back, but he has Ake and Akanji on the bench, so why play square pegs in round holes?

The weirdest thing was when Hurzeler played two 8's in the 2nd half but kept Mitoma wide on the left and Walker didn't mark him and Estupinan had freedom as well to cross.
Northern League 2nd division; Sunderland West End were leading Yarm & Eaglescliffe 5-2 going into added times at the end of the match. Final result was 5-6.
Kyle Hudkin, on loan at Newport from Huddersfield, is 6' 9'' tall. I believe that he is the tallest to play football in England though Paul Millar, onetime of Elgin, is 6' 10''.

Maybe it is easy to believe, but England's win over Ireland last night was our 666th
