So tonight we entertain Chelsea U21's in the BSM Trophy, we are currently sitting in second place behind tonight's guests on goal difference after one game, so would be a good time to turn in a good performance and leapfrog the Prem pretenders in this competition.
I know some people don't rate this competition very much, but under 21's or not, Chelsea will provide us with a good test, and I feel we should still be more than capable of coming out tonight victorious, and replacing them at the top of the mini league...
CharltonTV will be streaming tonight's match live for fans outside of the UK and Ireland, with commentary from Terry, Greg, and Brownie...so just make sure you have moved abroad and all should be sweet...

Team selection should be interesting with Nathan no doubt resting some players from the Wrexham game, with perhaps a more important FA cup 1st round clash with Southend coming up this coming Saturday

Anyway, lets see what tonight has in store for us shall we...

Nathan Jones has made 10 changes for this evening’s game with Chelsea U21s, Skipper Greg Docherty is the only starter player from Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Wrexham.

Nathan Asiimwe, returning from loan, Zach Mitchell, Rarmani Edmonds-Green and Thierry Small are expected to make up a back four in front of goalkeeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer.

Docherty will be joined in midfield by Terry Taylor, Allan Campbell and Tayo Edun and if playing a 4-box-2. In that formation Miles Leaburn and Henry Rylah would play in a front two.

Charlton’s bench is made up on Tommy Reid, Macaulay Gillesphey, Conor Coventry, Tyreece Campbell, Kaheim Dixon, Danny Hylton and Josh Laqeretabua.

Charlton: Maynard-Brewer; Asiimwe, Z.Mitchell, Edmonds-Green, Small; Docherty (c), Taylor, A.Campbell, Edun; Leaburn, Rylah

Subs: Reid, Gillesphey, Coventry, T.Campbell, Dixon, Hylton, Laqeretabua

Reid the only one who could be V1001 tonight then

Great to see Laqeretabua back involved again, along with Rylah

Surprised with Rylah ahead of Dixon but I'm guessing he'll play 30 anyway, probably coming on for Leaburn. Glad Z Mitchell is getting a chance and a few players getting a rest

OS suggesting it could be a 4-4-2 box midfield with Rylah and Leaburn up front.

Said a while ago during one of the u21 streams Rylah has just as much chance of making it as Casey and Mbick. They get the attention due to their goals, but Rylah has pace and strength which could really help at first team level. He was clearly thrown in too early by Appleton, so it’ll be interesting to see how he gets on tonight.

Hope that Zach Mitchell plays on the left so Jones can have a look at him replacing Gillesphey there until Jones is back

Be nice to see us overtake Chelsea but overall not fussed.  Had totally forgot Edun was still with us.

Why on earth can we not stream this match in the UK, says outraged of Forest Hill who would not have streamed it anyway.

Will Half and half scarves be available.

Would be mad for sometimes RB REG to play on the right of a 2 surely?

Outraged of Forest Hill finds out it is free on Sky .... outraged that its on Murdock TV*

    * I know he sold it years ago, but I feel out of place on CL if there is not something to be outraged by.

Chelsea lineup doesn't seem to be available anywhere so impossible to know which of their army of youngsters is playing

Bit of a come down for Docherty and Campbell to be starting a game like this - hopefully it'll give them both a bit of a kick up the arse.

Is this not the sort of game hylton should be involved in?

Mind you, the BBC shows our formation with Small as the lone striker, so they might not be totally accurate.

Got my half and half ready.

Leaburn and Rylah are an excellent front pair, but I can see Hylton coming on probably second half

Hoping AMB impresses over the next couple of games to give Jones a headache. Feel that whilst Mannion started well teams already know to shoot long distance as he can't handle them at all.

From the scant bit of stuff I have seen recently I have been thinking that Rylah who seemed to be a bit lost last season has got some of his mojo back.
He has had a haircut, and wasn't easy to recognise initially in our U21's this season.
