Shame that. Tough game against a decent team who have already beaten L1 sides this year.
Away at a soulless stadium I have already been to (we lost 2-0) and have no desire to go back to. This fixture does not equal the magic of the FA Cup! 🤣🤣.
Hope we win and get a more interesting draw next round. Good luck to the mad few who do go.0 -

I bet Walsall Life are similarly unimpressed.2

Well no matter what happens, at least any upset won't be as bad as the one Arsenal had when they lost to Walsall in the cup:1933 FA Cup Upset
In the third round of the FA Cup, Walsall, then a Third Division (North) team, faced Arsenal, who were reigning First Division champions and arguably the best team in England at the time. Against all odds, Walsall defeated Arsenal 2-0 in front of a packed Fellows Park. Goals from Gilbert Alsop and Bill Sheppard sealed the victory, and Walsall's triumph is still celebrated as one of the most remarkable giant-killings in FA Cup history.

Haven't been to Walsall since that game in 1975 at Fellowes Park.
I remember the corrugated iron stand they had.
Waiting at the local railway station and being pelted with lightbulbs and a fire extinguisher when a train carrying ManU fans, I think, on their way back from Forest or somewhere.
Carnage on New Street station.

I see Walsall are joint 2nd in league 1 so hard to see past a comprehensive loss here, at least Macauley bonne won’t be playing0

Don’t think it’s that bad.1) It’s fairly easy to get to as far as away days outside of London go.2) Its not a League One team
3) Expecting a decent turn out from the home side. Looked pretty busy yesterday for their game against Bolton
4) It’s not a game that would be considered some embarrassing, jaw dropping cup shock if we lose4 - Sponsored links:

We've historically had a tough time against Walsall in FA Cup matches.
Promotion chasing league 2 v Mid table league 1 has upset written all over it.2 -
If it’s Saturday 3pm I’ll go but can see this being moved, Monday night would be the worst one

We’re out to a lower division team but they’re not the lowest rank club in the competition so we’ll take it0 -
Interestingly there was not a single all League One tie in the first round so all 24 sides faced lower league opposition. Lincoln are still yet to play, but of the other 23:
Won by 2+ (90 mins): 6
Won by 1 (90 mins): 4
Won in extra time: 5
Won on penalties: 2
Lost: 6
Over half the teams either lost or were taken to extra time.
Worth noting that of the 6 teams that won by 2+ in 90 mins, 2 of those increased it to 2+ in injury time, including Exeter who scored their winner, and additional goal both in injury time. Peterborough were 2-0 down at one point, and Mansfield played 74 minutes of their game against 10 men.0 -

Cmon everyone, we've already stayed in this years competition longer than we thought, Warsaw on wet cold weekend? Perfect for an embarassing exit!0

18 of 24 through does feel like more than normal, but I'm not sure how many times there hasn't been at least 1 all League One tie, which has obviously helped.1 -

Not exactly glamorous and difficult, but it's an easy trip for us so we'll brave it!1
