  • If you're travelling to the game tomorrow there are several things to be aware of. The soutbound Blackwell tunnel is closed and no Elizabeth line between Paddington and Abbey Wood. No trains on Greenwich/Woolwich line or a DLR service between Stratford International and Canning Town.
  • 1-0 Bristol.
  • Bye bye Karen.

    Resign immediately after the game.
  • Fairly even game other than yet another terrible start. But Whitehouse has been by far the busier of the two keepers.
  • What’s gone wrong with the women, out of sorts at the moment?

No league wins in 5 now and dropped to 8th in the table
  • Not Hills out by any stretch but with such a short season she needs to really turn things around if we're to even have a sniff of going up
  • Good start facilitated by a brilliant rearguard followed by a sudden decline where not enough goals are scored and the defensive solidity completely disappears? Where have we heard that before?

  • That's it for the season unfortunately.

Yes we're only 5 points off top, but we're in the worst form in the league, bar Portsmouth who are rooted to the bottom.

We're practically midway through the season now, there's only 33 points left to get and I'll be honest I can't see us outscoring every team in the league by 5 points or more, so I suspect even with a severe uptick in form we finish behind Birmingham, LCL and a couple of others
  • Jemma White’s (Head of Women's Football) thoughts before today's game (on LinkedIn).

Mid-season and mid-audit 😮‍💨 I thought I'd pause and take a little reflection on the start of my journey with Charlton Athletic Football Club

Football is never straight forward, something that's consistent at every level I've worked at. Good people, good projects and space to have a good time along the way is what keeps me in the sport I love and I'd say our Addicks are doing alright at it!

So take a breath and into block two we go! 📈

  • I think the difference between the first few games and the more recent ones is skewed by the fact we happened to play all 3 of the clubs currently adrift at the bottom of the table among our first 4 games. Other than the great result against Durham we've been scraping around for points against the better sides.

Personally I'd like to see the club try to get the crowd making more noise. Two home games in a row we've had maybe 50-60 visitors rather than the usual handful and they've made a lot more noise than the home crowd.

Would also have been nice if the club had plugged the upcoming FA Cup game more, even though we don't yet know where it will be. Having the tannoy announcer focusing on a league game in January rather than plugging the cup or indeed the Palace away game seems like a missed opportunity.

    Spurs sacked her in November.

Today's starting eleven didn't look like the one to win a cup tie.
  • Ended 2-0. A big shake up is needed.
