Premier League and IMG Statement

At a Premier League Shareholders’ meeting today, clubs unanimously agreed that the Premier League will establish a new in-house media operations business.

Launching for the start of Season 2026/27, the Premier League will bring all international media content production and distribution in-house. For 20 years, this service has been provided in partnership with IMG, operating as Premier League Productions (PLP).

    Premier league Netflix - it'll 10 x revenues - this has been needed for a long time. 

    The issue is that almost all Prem teams have US owners or have US funding to some degree or another and will ultimately push for a closed league. 

    Apart from that this is good and will continue the huge waves of money washing into English football. 

    Which maybe in the next 30 years we could get a taste of.

    Can only hope that any move towards a closed league would get the same backlash as the European Super League proposal, the demise of which was wholly fan led.
