F A Cup 24/25 Thread - 4th round no longer our concern (p44)

  • It is our year.

For the last 4 or 5 months, I have been haunted by the number 47.
Anything number related while going about my day has a 47 in it to the point I am convinced it is a sign.
  • At home to Liverpool, Arsenal, Man U or begrudgingly Man C.

or away at any Prem team that has the room to accommodate all of us that would want to go…

For me think there’s potentially 17 away ties which would be a new ground for me to visit. Spurs away would be my choice or Everton away for one last trip to Goodison.

otherwise a favourable home game to try and make the 4th round would do.

See in the simulated draw, we were at home to West Ham, been pleased with that one.

Does that not just mean we’re getting Exeter?
  • Last fifteen season of Charlton in the FA Cup…

23/24: 2nd round (beat Cray Valley PM, lost to Gillingham)
22/23: 2nd round (beat Coalville, lost to Stockport)
21/22: 3rd round (beat Havant & W and Gateshead, lost to Norwich)
20/21: 1st round (lost to Plymouth)
19/20: 3rd round (lost to West Brom)
18/19: 2nd round (beat Mansfield, lost to Doncaster)
17/18: 2nd round (beat Truro, lost to Wimbledon)
16/17: 2nd round (beat Scunthorpe, lost to MK Dons)
15/16: 3rd round (lost to Colchester)
14/15: 3rd round (lost to Blackburn)
13/14: 6th round (beat Oxford, Huddersfield and Sheff Wed, lost to Sheff Utd)
12/13: 3rd round (lost to Huddersfield)
11/12: 3rd round (beat Halifax and Carlisle, lost to Fulham)
10/11: 3rd round (beat Barnet and Luton, lost to Spurs)
09/10: 1st round (lost to Northwich Victoria)

When was the last time we were knocked out in the 4th Round? I seem to remember getting knocked out in the 5th Round at Villa many years ago. Was that our last 5th Round exit?

one of the 60k London Premier League grounds would be nice, ideally West Ham as they are beatable at the moment, take 8k-10k to either.

I'd like Salford, Harrogate or Swansea away for the new personal ticks.

Or less selfishly, someone lower Premier League at home who we'd have a chance against - say Everton.

I've also gotten confused by the date. I assumed it'd be the 4th and so booked something for the 11th which I may have to amend.
  • Harrogate away for selfish reasons. West Ham or Arsenal at The Valley under the lights for the Saturday tea time game on TV could be special.

I asked Alexa what significance 47 has and was told i cannot be helped.
Charlton are number 46 in the draw.

Everton away is the dream tie, never been Goodison and this is the last season to do so.

Failing that, I'd like Tamworth or Dagenham away, ground ticks and winnable ties.

After that, City, Liverpool, Arsenal etc away, anything else, I'd rather Walsall had won.
Why would you rather Walsall won even if we didn’t get a plum draw ?

Arsenal, Chelsea or Spurs away please.

Knowing our luck we’ll get Birmingham or someone in the same league!

Said in jest mate, I never want to see Charlton lose.

Other than the time Appleton lost to Northampton, that was a necessary evil.

I’ve just done the same and it said Tottenham Hotspur at home

    We're playing Luton.

That's not who we're drawn against. That's just who we're playing, every week.

It would be good to play a Londonish teams at the Valley, about a 20% chance of playing one and 10% at home

    2 Arsenal

    5 Brentford

    10 Chelsea

    12 Crystal Palace

    15 Fulham

    25 Millwall

    33 Queens Park Rangers

    40 Tottenham Hotspur

    41 Watford

    43 West Ham United

    48 Leyton Orient

    50 Dagenham & Redbridge

    60 Bromley
