MATCH THREAD : Charlton Athletic V Crawley Town : Tuesday 3rd December 2024 : KO 19:45

So after all the highs of the FA Cup on Saturday, tonight it's back to the bread and butter stuff of the league, and trying to get points on the board and climb up the table with an under the lights encounter with Crawley Town on the hallowed turf, the first league game here in over a month...
Captain Greg Docherty will serve the final game of his three-match ban, while Luke Berry is also suspended after collecting his fifth yellow card in the Burton victory.
Now managed by former Addick Rob Elliot, Crawley currently sit 20th in the table, one point above the relegation zone, they are unbeaten in their last four league outings, we have met on four previous occasions with both sides picking up two wins each, Crawley claimed a 4-3 win at the Broadfield Stadium when we last met back in September 2023 in the EFL Trophy.
So here we go...
Team info...
Miles Leaburn returns to the starting line-up for tonight's game, and replaces the suspended Luke Berry, while Allan Campbell starts in place of Karoy Anderson as Nathan Jones makes two changes.
There is also a return to the bench for Lloyd Jones, who is involved for the first time since the Addicks beat Birmingham City in October.
The changes mean the Addicks are likely to against start in the 4-diamond-2 used at the weekend.
Rarmani Edmonds-Green, Alex Mitchell, Macaulay Gillesphey and Josh Edwards are expected to make up the back four in front of Ashley Maynard-Brewer.
Allan Campbell is expected to join Terry Taylor, Conor Coventry and captain Matty Godden in the midfield diamond, behind Leaburn and Saturday’s two-goal hero Gassan Ahadme.
Lloyd Jones is joined on the bench by Tommy Reid, Josh Laqeretabua, Thierry Small, Tayo Edun, Tyreece Campbell and Daniel Kanu.
Charlton: Maynard-Brewer; Edmonds-Green, A.Mitchell, Gillesphey, Edwards; Taylor, Coventry, A.Campbell, Godden (c); Leaburn, Ahadme
Subs: Reid, Jones, Laqeretabua, Small, Edun, T.Campbell, Kanu
Great to see Miles back, and a return on the bench for Jones, also another starting midfield duo of Taylor and Coventry...looking good

If I wasn't looking forward to this before, I am now. Alan Campbell back in the starting 11.....get in 🥳4

Ade Adeyemo formally of Cray Valley PM certainly one to keep an eye out for tonight. Saw him score a hattrick for them 2 years ago from midfield and he was a class above before finally getting a pro deal with Crawley last summer .4

Hope Barker gets a good reception, and I have a horrible feeling that Camara is going to cause us all sorts of problems. At least our Anderson being dropped means those of you listening to the audio commentary aren't going to have to work out whether Tel's talking about their one or ours, but I'm not sure that ACampbell is going to be an improvement on him. We live in hope.

Wollacott in goal for them. Keep crossing it and we’ll win this easily0

Anderson had a good game at the weekend. I assume he must be injured to not at least be on the bench with no other centre mids on there. Likewise, probably, for Berry, minus the bit about having a good game at the weekend. Hopefully Alan Campbell doesn't remind us all why Anderson has been getting picked ahead of him and actually has a decent game for a change. Bench looks weak, overall, but good to have Jones back.1

Miles and Gas haven't been a great combination so far. I REALLY hope that we don't just lump the ball forward to them.1
