Good afternoon everybody..., and Huge respect and admiration to everyone who travelled for this one in the face of so much adversity...

So not only do we do battle with Lincoln City at the LNER Stadium today, which could prove to be a rather tricky trip, it seems we also have to battle Darragh as well, and the game is on Sky as well, so the Gods do seem to be concocting a difficult scenario for us it seems, Michael Skubala’s Imps sit ninth in the table, four points outside of the play-off places.

Charlton and Lincoln have locked horns on 20 previous occasions, with the Addicks winning nine, the Imps five and the remaining six fixtures resulting in draws, we shared a 1-1 draw at The Valley when we last met in February 2024.

Captain Greg Docherty and Luke Berry are both available following their respective suspensions, we'll be sporting the yellow kit today...

Here we go...

Team news...

Lloyd Jones and Daniel Kanu return to the starting line-up for today’s game against Lincoln City.

Skipper Greg Docherty returns from suspension, Karoy Anderson returns from a one-game absence with hamstring tightness and there is a starting berth for Tyreece Campbell, as Nathan Jones makes five changes.

It means the Addicks may line-up in 3-5-2 with Lloyd Jones joining Alex Mitchell and Macaulay Gillesphey in a back three in front of Ashley Maynard-Brewer.

Josh Edwards is also starting, so may play as a wing-back or as a left-back in a back four. Docherty and Anderson join Terry Taylor in midfield as Conor Coventry misses out through muscle tightness, while Kanu, who netted on Tuesday, joins Gassan Ahadme up front.

Rarmani Edmonds-Green, Josh Laqeretabua, Thierry Small, Allan Campbell, Luke Berry, Matty Godden and Miles Leaburn make up the substitutes bench.

Charlton: Maynard-Brewer; A.Mitchell, Jones, Gillesphey; T.Campbell, Docherty (c), Taylor, Anderson, Edwards; Kanu, Ahadme

Subs: Edmonds-Green, Laqeretabua, Small, A.Campbell, Berry, Godden, Leaburn

No keeper on the bench, a back 3 and TC playing RWB
  • That team looks bizarre!
No sub GK, Coventry completely out

Just seen the team. Jones is just shuffling the deck chairs on the titanic. Unless there is a shift in attitude from these players - winning mentality- we’re in for another defeat

Essentially gone back to the start of the season minus Ramsay and Taylor instead of Coventry who's missed out through injury

I reckon Coventry isn't injured, I reckon they've had a massive falling out

I think it will be a back four with Mitchell as a narrow right back. Edwards on the left and Jones and Dizzy in the middle.

To follow my previous comment, I'm not sure Nath does either
  • I have no idea what he's going for with this team
It’s the same formation as the opening day minus Coventry isn’t it?

    Hopefully Jones does.

Will we be shifted to the main TV coverage with no Merseyside derby? Or is there a different early kick off they can put on?

Maybe Berry is the sub goalkeeper :)
I am guessing if anything happens to AMB then Ahadme will volunteer, he seems that kind of guy.

Yeah maybe it looks different to me now that we know Doc is absolutely not the #10 we thought he could be

Well, we've all been calling for change so here it is.

Back to plan A. This time with another different front 2 pairing.

Even more looking like a win for us so Nathan can then say the fans no nothing & should all pipe down.

The wind could work in our favour with these long balls. Kanu and Ahadme's link up play was good when he came on against Crawley.

He certainly plays more like a goalkeeper than a striker
