I thought the Resurrection was normally Easter time?

You jest but my Uncle gave my Gran a black eye one year with a stray elbow when pulling a cracker.

    Which year?
  • Don’t bring him back too early. Leave it until the last game of the season.

Chuks comes off the bench scores the winner leaving Charlton 12th in the league and everyone saying what the season could have been with a fully fit Chuks.

He’s a liability. End Off . I have sympathy if he had a specific injury especially it’s depression or anxiety ( of which we’ve never been been told about from any manager ) but he’s a broken flush and we should never have re signed him from Birmingham.
I'll stand by this, the worst piece of transfer business in our history.
    Francis Jeffers?
    Christophe LePoint
    Anil Koc
Cory Gibbs, saw him at Welling, think that was his only game.

Corry Gibbs who never played a competitive game for CAFC between 2006/08 managed to play 83 matches once he left for 3 different USA teams over the next 4 years.

We wish Chuks Aneke well in June and even if he managed 10 games before the end of the season and scored six goals if any one thinks at 31 that his body and mind will suddenly be free to be available on a regular basis you are totally misguided.

Charlton Athletic have to stop being a charity and at least buy players that aren't injury prone to start with.

If Cafc had given Chuks a high one year contract with a year's option with games played then fair enough but 4 years after signing from Birmingham was embarrassing for a professional football club that already had the data from his first time at the club.

Was his health records deleted after leaving for the blues ?

    Bowyer took it with him
  • To be fair, his injury record has become significantly worse since he returned from Birmingham.

In his last season before he left us (20/21), he only started 11 games, but also came off the bench 27 times, so featured in 38 out of the 46 games, scoring 15 goals.

Then in his half season at Birmingham, he only started once but was in the matchday squad for every game that season.

I wouldn't have given him the 3.5 year contract we gave him, but the idea of him being a "finisher" as Curbs called him wasn't completely outlandish.

Apparently fit to play (well it is Chuks so maybe not fully fit), but jones didn’t want to change the squad after the 5-0 win

Picking Hylton over Chuks is a mental decision regardless of the 5-0 and Hylton scoring

My guess is a brief cameo against Wycombe and a post match farewell to the fans.

    To where?

I'd not be surprised he's been pensioned off already and his future has been sorted elsewhere.

I'd love to hear  an honest answer from Gallen as to who was responsible and involved in Aneke's return.

Aneke coming back was a f***** joke.

It was Sandgaard's lad. No one had a clue and suddenly Chuks is being wheeled back out on a three and a half year deal. I was told this by one of the backroom staff at the time. I couldn't believe we had given out that contract but it made more sense when I learned who was behind it.
I was also told Chuks couldn't believe it either and was chuckling away when he was telling the players the dough he was on.

I am starting to think we may not see him in a Charlton shirt again.

Wouldn't have said that at the time, would say that now.

You can speak for yourself. Certainly not for me.

What would be the benefit in paying up his contract six months early?
