It's hard to justify a knighthood based on his track record as London Mayor. Indeed while I didn't always agree with him, Ken Livingstone was a far more notable London Mayor, plus former leader of the GLC.5

Knighthoods and Damehoods are a total anathema and should've been banished to the medieval room 101.
Sportsman, Politicians, actors, singers etc it's archaic and embarrassing.
Way before the Pervert Jimmy Saville was given a knighthood because of his 'friendship' with Thatcher and Charles, knighthoods should've been abolished.

Genuinely astonished that people can bring themselves to get upset about knighthoods in this day and age. Unless he’s going to participate in a siege or turn up to feudal councils I’m not sure it really matters. Have a chocolate orange and stick The Guns of Navarone on, it’s going to be ok.9
